Back on the Road: Transmission Recall Repair Done

...after four days (!!) in the shop! Must be nice to be a wealthy global corporation so you can afford to spend all that money fixing design problems...

Zeb rides at least as good as he did before he went in (probably because he's was due for a tune-up soon anyway). I didn't notice any change in the ride's feel. Which probably means I don't ride aggressively enough to notice the curtailed performance envelope .

Mine is done. It was good to get it back. I rode a naked HD fat boy lo for a week while the fjr was in the shop. 
 

They are not the same.

Rode my 2018 to the dealer in the rain this morning.  

Thinking that it would be a good time to have them do the valve check even at only 22,000 miles.  Engine will be on the bench anyway.

Anyone's thoughts on that, please?

As complicated as the recall is, I certainly wouldn't want the worker distracted at all.  I'd wait on the valve check.  But what do I know?  Ask them!

None. No difference in anything, except it shifts a little more crisply. No difference in power, acceleration, etc.

Mark, does your dealer charged you anything?

Nope. All three recalls (transmission, brake switch and something else) were paid 100% by Yamaha.

Thanks. A friend mine who has 2018 model got info from his dealer, that most probably he will be charged for the work. What sounds very strange to me. He lives in Czech, will let him know.
