I'm planning to post this to the masses, but thought I'd run it through here first. I'm planning Friday as a Western Hoe Down Banquet (1st image) and Saturday would be the feedbag Executive Dinner Buffet. Since the Marriott just sent me a new menu I would post the slightly edited images of the menu (I took off prices and some other details) to the masses. One thing I'm considering is to give the folks a bit of a choice on Saturday dinner via forum discussion.

Option #1) We could have 2 entrees from the list including Smoked Primerib ($3 more pp). If so, I would suggest Smoked Salmon with citrus beurre blanc and Smoked Prime Rib.

or

Option #2) We could have 3 entrees from the list, but not including Smoked Primerib. If so, I would suggest Seared French cut Chicken Breast, Dutch Oven Pot Roast, and Smoked Salmon.

I had planned the 3 entrees option for budgeting, but if folks like the 2 entrees with prime rib option better...it would be about $1 cheaper per person and would probably use that money somewhere else in the budget.

Thoughts before I let it loose on the masses? (I don't want to go with a poll because non WFO folks could vote on it).

When's dinner?! :dribble:

Edit:

After thinking on it for a while...

I say option 2 is the way to go.

If you need the $1 pp then the decision is made. Would that apply to the lanyards...then go for that. It all sounds good to me.

I like option #1.

Save a buck for lanyards or whatever, but also, I think having 2 high quality dishes is better than 3 not so much dishes.

Also, I vote for no voting. Make your decision, and let that be what they get. Smoked prime rib and smoked salmon, who could ask for more?

Upon further reflection, I believe this is the way to go.

People tend to go ape-**** over WFO threads and take them to directions that ar as stupid as they are meaningless. Besides, any "voting" would have to be done by registered attendees only, so the gneral forum would not be the place to do that.

And like GZ said, smoked salmon and smoke prime rib oughta do the job, I'm thinkin'.... :D

Shows how busy I've been this month...I just remembered I started this thread.

I'm thinking no vote and go with vegeterian lasagna and rocky mountain oysters for entrees........just kidding. I've got one vote (the organizer) for option #2 and two votes (one dude on hiatus and a guy with a disassembled bike) for option #1.

I'm partial to the two-entree choice option myself. Hard to go wrong with stampeding and swimming critters with pink flesh.

Will probably go to the masses with an edited menu to show the choices tomorrow or Thursday unless I hear a big veto.

WE'RE AT 144 PAID ATTENDEES!!!

Works for me and Woot!

Edit: That means if you take out the staff, there's only 20 or so who have signed up, but not paid, right? If so, that friggin' rocks for a closing ratio!

Actually, I think it's an even better delta of 13. 13 signed up and not paid. I sent an e-mail out to probaby a dozen of them after the onslaught began some weeks ago and had a fair number of e-mail replies that folks realized they had signed up, not paid, and would pay up later because of individual schedule or fund circumstances.

I think registration banquet counts are pretty well under control.

I have an email into Colin regarding room count to date. If thats on target, then I think I'll poor myself an extra stiff toddy tonight. ;)

I'm gonna guess the reserved room count is 108. I'd pour one myself, but I have to go pretend I know what I'm talking about at a council meeting. I know that should stop me or anything, but I can't pull off full-toddied quite as well as several of my colleagues ;)

It's a swooze moment: Just Do It. C'mon, its WFO and it only happens once a year. Concur that you can't go wrong, besides, the banquet is more than the food.....its the people and the festive atmosphere.......then there's Warchild's newest contest. :dribble: :yahoo:

By the way, Iggy, did I miss the Tequila Sampling Bar on the menu?
I've already purchased a forty dollar bottle of Costco's "Even better than last year's" forty percent Anejo and it ages under lock & key as we speak. :yahoo: :dribble:
