I want to install a 12v Barrier strip with 30 amp relay. Can I use this strip to power my Gerbings gloves, jacket liner and socks as well as other farkles :eh: ? I noticed Warchild had a separate relay for his Widder clothing. It would be nice to use the Barrier strip relay for everything if it doesn't create an overload. Help.

This is how mine are wired, right off the FJR Tech barrier strip farkle. No problems so far.

Yes, you can do this without any issues.

I wire mine separately because the Widder is not connected to the Barrier strip, it's connected to the Widder Electronic Controller, and *that* component is what regulates power to the female Widder connector you see here.

Thanks Warchild,

I have a portable controller with the Gerbings so I'll use the barrier strip to supply the power for the clothing via the controller. One other thing I forgot to ask, can I install my Datel voltmeter to this strip as well and get accurate volt readings, or should the voltmeter go directly to the battery terminals?

Purists will tell you that the direct-connect to the battry gives the best readings, and they make a good point.

However, on my Datel, I do indeed source my (+) lead from the switched barrier strip, and take the ground lead directly off the battery.

Thanks Skyway and thanks again, Warchild. I'll hook it up as you have done. I'm no longer "barrier strip challenged".
