Don, it's a good thing I will be under the radar in the truck......

AND

One does not flee to AZ, only from.

yup, I knew it was going to be work-from-home today....I've been watching the Wx reports all week (fav site is www.noaa.gov)I'm down in South San Jose and it has been @#$!#! hammering rain and wind for most of the morning.

CA needs every drop!

Mr. BR
I'm in Santa Clara and braved the weather and made it to work in Mtn. View without much issue... not much traffic today and those that were on the freeway were behaving for the most part... did my old lady impression and stayed in the slow lane at about 40 mph... not many folks passing me either... the last few minutes around 9am just before I got to the office were amazing with the amount of water being dumped from the skies... haven't seen rain like that in a long, long time... and I agree... bring it, Ma Nature! :)

Raining good and hard now. With the forecast of rain off and on for at least a week the drought is on standby for now.

Here in the North Bay, I had divert three times on my way to work this morning. Stopped for coffee, checked email, and management was sending everyone home as the parking lot at work was beginning to flood. Had to divert twice more to find a route back home.

Stay safe out there!

The weather in Kali is heading to Washington to make life interesting here. I have my Honda generator ready to go with a full tank of gas plus more available if needed. I use the FJR tank as a source of extra fuel for the generator.

Western Washington will see winds from 20-75mph depending on the specific location.

It will be a tough night for Washaway Beach where to homes have been destroyed.

Whew, glad I escaped CA just in time.

I seem to remember several of these storms over the years living and working there... Don't recall all the 'hype' before...But, then I was sitting on top of Donner summit, waiting all night for the road to open. With 2 ft. of snow on the hood..... I'm told Shasta Lake is a river, now. Maybe this will help, a little.

Stay safe down 'thar Tyler.

We've gotten quite a bit of rain in the last couple days [surprise!] with a major windstorm coming in tonight. Like Fontanaman, I've got the generator fully fueled and ready to go.

I'll get to experience the storm firsthand as the powers-to-be have opened our emergency operations / storm-center and I report back to work at 8PM tonight. Relief comes at 6AM...good times!

I took the freeway to work today and did my best "Old Lady" impression... stayed in the slow lane around 35-40 mph... didn't have many cars pass me either... most drivers behaved well... drive home was interesting but I just played mellow and got home in one piece... of course, the media plays it so out of proportion... kinda like this...

P.S. You be safe too, G... B)

Fontanaman just lost power. The Generator is running, Internet is working and we are watching the NFL game twix'd Arizona and St. Louis. Go St. Louis.

Not a phucking drop of rain in Creston..

Them Northen peeps always keep the water their way. <ducking>

Seriously, nada. From the vantage point of my hot tub, looking south, I can see nothing but clear skies to Cuesta Grade.

Looking East, the edge of the Milky Way.

I'm starting to think this rain thing is all one big myth.
