Should be picking up my new FJR tomorrow and want to install a battery tender hookup and also a hook up for my heated gear. Looking around the forum here, am I correct that I have to remove one of the fairing pieces to access the battery ? Sounds like a PIA.

It's np big deal = 3 fasteners. I just wired in my GPS in no time. Don't worry about it.

Don't lose the plastic washers that protect the paint

Hey FLHX,

Where did you end up buying your '06? Did you get a decent deal?

How about putting that in another thread or a PM? This thread is about battery access.

As we grow as a board, it helps if the subjects stay somewhat close to the topic and answered threads shrivel away.

Thanks.

Never mind FLHX. I checked the other thread and found your reply. You did even better than me. I paid 12,700 but that was on April 1 (with no PDP) when the bikes hadn't even come in yet. Congrats and good luck with your new ride. I'm sure you're going to love it!

Also, to keep "management" happy, I need to tell you that the battery is on the right side of the front fairing. Remove the screws from the top panels in front of the headlight adjuster knob but don't remove the knob or the panel it's attached to.
