My scooter is supposed to be here next week and I have purchased a battery tender although I have no idea how to install one. Please keep in mind that I can do Labor Negotiations and handle a motorcycle and a paintbrush with finesse doing anything with metal, screws or electricity is a challenge for someone who has killed half of his brain with Lacquer thinner fumes. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Thanks :)

Haven't got my tender yet (I'm purchaseing the junior),or have checked where the battery is located for lack of time, but ususally most hook up the pig tail that comes with the tender to the battery.(Not trying to be smart here) Leaving the plug end secured in a hidden but convient place that when you come in to park the bike, you can just plug it in to charge. Hope this helped. PM. <><

Install a Powerlet outlet hot from the battery. You get a pigtail from SAE to BMW and just plug it in. No loose wires plus you have an oulet for other uses also.

My battery tender plus came with an SAE connector and two cords, one with rings to hardwire to the battery and one with clips. I used the hardwire one and put it directly on the battery posts. I ran it under the plastic and up along the throttlr cable and brake line. I use the waterproof cap that came teathered to the SAE end of the hardwire to wrap around the cables and prevent the connector from sliding away. No need to drill holes if you go this route. I even put an SAE connector on the end of my radar detector hardwire and use the battery tender SAE plug to power te detector. The only problem with this is that I have to unplug the radar detector wehn I park or it will drain the battery. (I plan on putting in switched power for the detector some time soon.)

I have the Yuasa version, wired direct to the battery. It has the SAE trailer wire style 2 prong plug, which I just ran to the upper right opening in the fairing, and zip tied to one of the hoses coming off of the coolant reservoir. A simple thing to reach in, pull out, and plug in. Looks like it belongs there as well.

Gee guys withall that trouble and effort you could do outlets and just plug in. Works for tank bag power, air compressor etc. Seems pretty simple to me.

What trouble? A five minute install does not a Powerlet make.
