I have an 05 also and IMHO the batteries are good for three years. Yes I know others will say different, this is just a rule of thumb. I put a new one in before I went to NAFO

I did not want a battery failure,so I did the smart thing and bought mine from "BIKEFFECTS" got the discount and it was shipped to my doorstep. And a happy customer

I got one from westco. they shipped the wrong battery but made amends very quick. The battery was made Vietnam and lasted 6 weeks and would not accept a charge. After calling up and explaining my problem a new battery was sent muy pronto. so far the battery is doing well. will let you know if there is a problem

If you can find one that fits (have never checked), I've really had good luck with Odyssey batteries in my bikes and lawn tractor. They're not cheap, but they are designed to last about 8 years. I've got one in my Beemer (R1100RS) that's 6 years old and still going strong.......
