RJ -

Simply, the BEST RR ever. And I have high standards. Well done, Sir, I salute you!

:****:

I did NOT look at the lengthy version....I'm headed for bed.

Care to elucidate regale us with your version of the conversation with the white car (with custom lighting)?

Great report! Don't what is more amazing, the two Italian tourists crossing the U.S. on a 50cc Vespa or Victor crossing on a 1917 Harley. Amazing, both! Great vids.

Another great read John. Loved it. Not like those that did the quicky, I had to dig in and view the videos too.

Good stuff man, stop and smell the exhaust.

Great Read...the anticipation for my trip out west this September is hightened by your story and pics. Thanks for taking the time to write this up.

Willie

RJ, I know you'll stay in touch with Giorgio and Giviliana. When they prepare their Ride Report, I can't wait to see it. Just incredible touring on Vespa 50. And I thought our IT teerex51 Stef was a nut!

And to think we have the nerve to keep threads alive forever complaining about how much our butts hurt and what seat to buy, what oil to use, and on and on and on.....

Come on PEOPLE!!!!! What has happened to the true American spirit of adventure. Have we all become so wrapped up in technology that we have forgotten the simple things in life are the one's that are the most precious.

I for one now know that even if fading quickly, at least some still have that true spirit that was alive when our sport started. It has impacted me deeply and I pray I never forget what motorcycling is truely about.

Thank you RJ for taking the time out of your trip to record this moment in history and sharing it with us.

Screwball

Holy cow, John. :dribble:

And that was just the shakedown cruise?

I can't wait to see what happens when you go into full touring mode.

Well spoken, Fred W! Saying this is just a Ride Report, would be like saying that War and Peace by author Leo Tolstoy is just another novel! Yellow Helmeted "Hippie from Olema" has got nothing on RJ!

RJ, I'm wondering how you would have gotten your new second wife home iffin' you'd found one?

Outstanding ride report !!

And call me about your cruise. I got some questions.

Richly entertaining report, John Austin!

(And hell, I know it ain't easy making Nevada look interesting.)

:D ;)

Loved it!

So, what did you learn about your new bike and set-up?

What will you be changing/adjusting/re-thinking?

What worked?

What didn't?

Wow RJ! You've outdone yourself sir. That must be simply the most interesting ride report that I've ever read - and I haven't finished reading it yet. There are still links unclicked and I haven't seen Victor's video yet. Loved the story about the Italians on the Vespa. The sad comment about asking the Indians how they felt about immigrants taking over. Definitely won't go into the politics here, but that was a point well made. And then that amazing photo of the children. For those who only viewed the highlights report, you HAVE to go into the detailed report and find out why RJ was asked to leave town by the father(s) of these kids.

I feel as though I've just watched a four hour long educational program on PBS. Looking forward to soaking up the rest of the story but there is a bike in the garage begging to be taken out to play right now.

Thanks RenoJohn. You made my day. I'm setting out with a big smile on my face.
