Guys and Gals of the Bay Area FJR Fanatics:
I find myself garageless and needing basic maintenance on my 2005 FJR. My heart longs for a similar type of past experience when I lived in Taos, NM and was riding my former love, excuse the expression - a '96 Beemer GS. The local Albuquerque club maintenance gurus would swarm onto my GS and do the requisite 6000 mile maintenace for/with me, offering expert care and impeccable attention to detail.
I, in return, supplied them with whatever food and drink they would accept - they wouldn't take money. In lieu of, or in addition to that kind of thing, I would love to find a similar group of fanatics/FJR lovers in the bay area where I could bring my machine to you, hang out and have a similar thing happen with my FJR. I'm most willing to pay for this kind of service as I know you would lavish my machine with much more attention and care than the above average dealer and I would much prefer paying you to do the work than a dealer, if we couldn't find a suitable trade.
Any offers? For possible bartering purposes, I'm a 67 year old, Airline Transport pilot, currently flying Gulfstream aircraft for a large charter company (sorry, I can't get you on board for a flight, although I could do a static walk around in the airplane with you and show you how the rich and famous live) I hold a current flight instructor license, am a licensed professional counselor - if you're having troubles at home or beyond! I've been a personal coach and done a lot of other stuff, among which I'm a published writer and could help you compose an oral history of your riding life! Hey, just a thought - it might be fun! I'm a decent cook and I'm actually looking for a female riding partner since my primary relationship of eleven years recently ended (hence no garage!) Whew, covered a lot of bases.....
I'm open to all and any possibilities. If nothing else, ya :yahoo: 'll know more about me than before so we'll have a jumping off point for further friendship....
Hopefully I'll see you before WFO 05 and if not, then in Reno....
