Here it is guys. all are invited to participate.

For those riders who have not done the SS1000 you can complete it as part of this ride.

Please indicate you interest, so planning can begin.

We will start in Florida where the majority are located, or where it is most convenient.

Roadglide, mrrjax, and I are doing the SS1000 this Sat. Nov 18 starting in Jacksonville.

Regards

Actually, I believe the IBA rules state you have to do an SS1K before they'll certify you for a BBG... something about newbies biting off more than they can chew... or maybe I misread your post... and you're offering both BBG and SS1K options seperately?

Actually, I am not offering anything to anyone, except information about what I am doing, so if anyone has been thinking along the same lines and wish to coordinate and cooperate he is welcome.

Yes, one has to do the SS1000 before being accepted for the BBG 1500. But people who wish to do the SS 1000 at the same time, can start the ride together with the BBG riders and stop after covering 1000 miles, while the BBG guys continue on to 1500 miles.

Does the above sound complicated enough.

Regards.

Good luck with your planning! The BBG was by far the most difficult of all the LD rides I've done so far and that was with perfect weather, zero road construction, and riding a K1200LT ;-)

Please note the below listed proposed route for the upcoming BBG 1500 I intend on doing in December.

It will be done starting on a Sat. time to be decided.

BBG 1500 WITHIN FLORIDA

DATE to be decided by participants.

Start BROOKSVILLE, Travel I - 75 S to Naples.

Continue I- 75 to Ft Lauderdale.

Turn North onto I - 95 and continue to Jacksonville.

Turn West onto I - 10 and continue to Tallahassee.

Return on I - 10 to Lake City

Turn south onto I - 75 continue via Florida Turnpike to Ft Lauderdale.

Turn North onto I - 95 and travel to END at JACKSONVILLE

Total approx miles 1600 TIME 24.00 Hrs

This seems to be good preparation for the 100CC. Consider Jax to SD is 2400 miles and 34 hrs or less.

Note, the speed limit on 400 miles of I -10 in Texas is now 80 mph.

If you wish to make contact with me and discuss scheduling send a PM.

I am currently thinking about Sat/Sun Dec 16/17 2006.

I know it is near to the holidays, but it is the first available day after the academic schedule ends.

Glen.
