I "Think" I just started hearing this noise tonight.

Recorded a video, can y'all take a listen and let me know if I am not just imagining the problem.

I can't really tell, maybe those that had failures can comment.... but, being a Gen 1 and if the CCT's' never been changed, what are you waiting for!! Essentially everybody with an FJR prior to mid-'07 shoulda done this by now... it costs big bucks if it fails.

70k Miles.

I think I am going to order a replacement and ride the Honda till I tear it apart. Will do a valve check at same time.

I hear nothing odd.

The cam chain slap would be audible without having to get close to it. Probably audible with earplugs in and a helmet on.

I can hear a little chain slapping, and would certainly not hesitate to replace the CCT. I swapped mine before installing the replacement engine and it looks like its been updated again, as mine (purchased about 10 months ago) had a Green dot not the Blue dot like the relacement CCT I installed in the original engine about 5 years ago.

I can't hear the audio at work, but if it is the cam tensioner it'll definitely be coming from the right side and very noticeable at idle and quiet down as rpm's climb.

Last night I ordered the revised CCT, gaskets etc. Going to pull her apart and replace that and check the valves. Piece of mind and all that.

If you do find any tight valves, I would at least ride the bike around a little bit with the new CCT to get acclimated to the new noise level before shimming any valves.
