An idea I've been flipping around in my head for the last few years is to a fill a void in my Suburban Illinios community. The Bike dealerships are far and wide and I think my rapidly growing area could stand to have one. There is a new Kaw dealer about ten minutes from me and a Honda Dealer about the same but it's in a crap location and is very small. Anything else is at least a 45 min drive away. I bet a Yamaha/Suzuki dealership would do well in my exploding population area. This would be something I could really sink my teeth into, something I could enjoy and maybe even make a living at it. Been looking to do something that I love for a long time.

The problem is that I cannot even find a phone number with which to begin an inquiry process. My head is filled with questions and I'm doing my best to imagine an embrionic business plan. Every make I've looked up I hit a dead end. The corporate sites don't even seem to have a "contact us" option for me to start with. I figured whoever answers an email might be able to point me in the right direction but Nada.

I could ask a dealership but... I don't think I'd get much Help. Maybe my best first step would be to call a dealership in another region?

Does anyone have any ideas?

Ride well,

Hanzo

We have some of our very own dealers here on this forum. Perhaps they will chime in with the information you need. Other than that, I would call customer service and start pestering peeps.

I assume you've got some spare change to devote to this? I wouldn't even bother unless you've got $250K in your own cash to invest and can raise another $500K.

Great way to turn a large fortune into a small one IMHO, but you gotta follow your heart.

I figured a half-a-mega would be the standard down swoop so I started printing my own money and set the value at double the previous dollar.... I have a very nice Canon photoprinter...

Isn't that what banks are for?

Well, as I said, it is embrionic... ah, let,s face it... it's a dream. But if it is possible, then I will likely persue it.

You could send a message to lotecredneck on this forum... he's a Yammy dealer... and a good one.

he's a great dealer who recently started a second dealership and then when that was stood up, sold his first, wildly successful one!

The world is full of folks who began with a thought that created an action....and turned it to success beyond imagination.

Only those who would attempt the absurd will achieve the impossible.....

good luck bud!!

THanks for the insights, so far. Have to put my master plans on hold for the weekend, though, as I'm heading out of town for a funeral.

Hope the temps are good to ride wherever you are.

I'll catch up on the furm in a few days.

Ride well,

Hanzo

(916) 784-2444 ex 1 or just ask for Sean. He owns Rosville Yamaha. Went from software to motorcycles. That is a move I wouldn't mind making. Good guy.

Someone here has a quote in their sig. line.

"Experts tell you why something can't be done, then do it themselves."

Wait just a minute, Honzo. There is one important question that must be asked before consideration goes any further.

Do we get a discout?

Go you one better, we all chip in a few dollars and become part owners then we get everything wholesale! :yahoo:

Back from a gruelling weekend. I was going to suggest that everyone chip in a Grand and I'll take your names and numbers, then be sure you get you next bike only slightly over cost. :)
