2 years ago I couldn't afford an FJR yet, so I tried to make my FZ1 into one. Here's what I ended up with...

I sold it to a guy from Vancouver Island, BC for $6700. Not sure why, but he had a terrible time getting it into Canada, they made him leave at the border for 2 weeks! The Feezer was fun, but I love my FJR. My wife has more room and her legs don't go to sleep after an hour on the back like they did on the FZ1.

Hey, when Mama's happy... the bigger bike became "her idea", my response; "Yes Dear".

A friend in Dallas did the same lowers (imported from overseas as they didn't bring them in to the us back when he did his). His was blue. I got to ride it a bit while waiting for my '03 fjr to arrive.

Several owners have come from Cali and Washington to the FZ Gap rally in June with a similar setup, they are much younger and probably don't NEED the FJR's comfort. I still own one, s/o's prefer the FJR for sure.

Thanks guys. The factory lowers were easy to install, in fact I did it in the parking lot of the dealer. I used SW Motech's removable mounts for the Givi bags, and a small tank bag with their gas cap mount. Other than that, I added a 139dB Stebel Nautilus Air horn from Twistedthrottle.com.

Actually, I'd like to have another one. In fact, I think the perfect stable would be an FJR, an FZ1, an R1, a Warrior and a WR450. Talk about bleedin' Blue!

I'm only 32, so I don't NEED the comfort, but I don't NEED 146 horsepower either. Who am I kidding, YES I DO! :yahoo:

Only 146 hp?

I already have the FJR and WR450. I'm looking at either an FZ1 or ZX14, because I can fit on an R1. Maybe the Kawasaki 2000 instead of the Warrior?

MKO, If you haven't ridden the new FZ1 yet DO IT! I haven't ridden the ZX14 but I've read a lot about it, sounds like rocket and it does look good. I'd be curious what the weight difference is between the two, even though they aren't normally competitors. I guess for me the same can be said about the Warrior. I haven't riddent the Kawi 2000, but I have ridden the Warrior. For me, I'm still puttin' my money on Blue. But everyone likes and looks for different things.
