Before I try anything as drastic as rebuilding the steering stem, or dropping a couple large on a damper, I'm gonna try a couple of other angles, namely, changing the steering angle by varying the fork tubes in the triple tree.
You know, that just might be the solution... With my Wilbers set up, I might be outta the shake range. More weight on the front end may just be the trick. IIRC, you can drop the trees/raise the tubes by about 1/2 inch without conflict. 5 minute job, no cost and won't bust your gut... Can't go wrong, go wrong. Post up when you got 'er done, GP. ;)

Disgusting.

And thus, the "head shake". We even make our bike sick.
Oh. Sorry. I completely misunderstood. When TWN said THE forum guinea pig, I just assumed that "head shake" was some feeble attempt at between use hygiene that was applied to the guinea pig.

So, what you're saying is...there is no between use hygiene applied to the guinea pig? That's even MORE disgusting.
See, the problem is that you guys contrive this sick **** in your heads and then twist it in your oh-so-unimaginative and unoriginal ways in a feeble attempt at humor. Really, stand down and let the pros handle the funny stuff, okay? Sheesh, ******' rookies. :glare:
I'm sensing the kind or irritability, frustration, and yes, even sheer panic that would only be observed from someone coming to terms with a large marsupial that is neither completely in, nor completely out. To say you've gotten yourself into a pickle would be to put it rather backwards and completely lack an appropriate sense of scale...except for extremely large pickles.

nice report but -1 to this ---> FJRs shake their schnozzes when decelerating around 50mph.

Mine has 28k miles and I have Avons and it does NOT shake it's head on deceleration. Just tried it twice this week and smooth as buttah.

Life is good, especially when you ride an FJR.

All this talk of gerbils has me wondering if Richard Gere is not lurking in disguise (disgust?) on this forum?

Let's get this straight - sex DOES NOT involve small animals. Latex blow-up dolls maybe but not animals.

Care to be the forum guinea pig?
Whoa! First gerbils, now guinea pigs?!? I almost don't want to mention that kangaroos are *also* in the rodent family, but I do see a dangerous trend.

Disgusting.

Ari...baby...

You watched too many Sylvester/Tweety cartoons when you were younger, right? Especially the one with the baby kangaroo!

Kangaroos are marsupials, not rodents. Sufferin' succotash!!

Hey, let's all take our eyes off the road and watch our handle bars.
Well, if you don't feel comfortable with YOUR skill level, I understand your reluctance.

Oh, may as well remove those unnecessary distractions just ahead of the handlebars, since you SURE don't want to take your eyes off the road. Think of the weight and amp savings dumping your instruments.

Mmmmmm... :nea: Different slant on an old, worn out theme. Keep trying though. You may someday have an original thought. ;)
