Thinking aboot Ely for inagural f1 air races 6/13....

Acommadation recs?

I know some LD peeps have been there. 😎

stayed in an old hotel/casino there a couple years ago....good room, around $70....right on the main drag....have fun.....ff

I stayed at the Bristlecone Motel when I came through there a couple of years ago... clean room, reasonably priced, and they had the softest towels I have ever experienced... worth the price alone!

Plus there is a restaurant right across the street (The Copper Top).

Tyler, you're coming up to Nakusp, right? Bring a couple of those towels along. I'd love to feel how soft they are.

You still have them, right?

The IBR and Bob's Montana rallies are run out of the 'Best hotels'.

Funny asking LD types about the best hotels in Ely. The best hotel could be a park bench for them. 😁

Any clean hotel where you can park your bike in front of the room, should do. WC's rallies were/are run out of the Four Seasons, I mean Four Sevens in Ely Nevada. Clean rooms, and there is the Jailhouse steakhouse across the road.

When we pass through Ely,we always eat at the Jailhouse steakhouse. Excellent food at a fair price. Its inside the Jailhouse casino with the tables set in actual jail cells. They have a motel too!

Ditto Tyler for the Motel -- also a real good Mexican Restaurant on the next block north, La Fiesta.

Thanks all for great suggestions!

Me gots to get my CBA mojo working and see how many 200 mile days <gasp> it will take to get to Nakusp with all these detours..

I tend to stay at the Hotel Nevada and Gambling Hall. Has reserved motorcycle parking out front. The rooms all have themes of some sort. Very motorcycle friendly.
