Any suggestions to mounting a radar detector to the brake reservoir cover? A simple flat plate would be great, but I can't find one. The Ram mounts available to do this raise the mounting pad significantly but I guess I could live with it if no other options. Thanks in advance

Velcro. Then you can mount other stuff there as you desire/need.

I would never trust a $400 radar detector to velcro ... If you want to use something like velcro, use 3M dual lock ... That is the stuff you want ... Expensive but worth it ...

Sorry that's what I meant. I call it all velcro. LOL

Dual-Lock was my first thought (I have a LOT of the stuff. Use it all the time), but I would guess I'd need to grind/sand the top of the brake reservoir cover first and not sure I want to. Thanks for the great replies!

I use a Ram reservoir mount that was on a Gen2 with a short arm and x-mount. It is adjustable, can hold other items like my smartphone on the days I don't need the radar detector - yes, I ride close to the speed limit sometimes (mostly around town)!

If interested, I'll post a pic later tonight. I ran a non-coiled power line from my fuse box under my front seat, up the steering head and up the right handle bar to power my Bel Pro 100 detector.

Ram ball in the LH mirror mount works well, very secure and easy to take it with you. Shouldn't be too concerned with display as one should have audio plugged into helmet or a loudspeaker to keep eyes on the road.

This ^^^^. I recall a few posts with folks asking how to fix stripped threads on the master cylinder cover because it couldn't handle whatever accessory they mounted to it.

I got nothing.

You custom cut a piece of sticky Velcro for the top, and all the sides with the male side exposed. Do the same thing with female Velcro on the bottom of the RD. Then you cut a length 3/4" wide double sided non sticky Velcro that sticks to one side of the reservoir and wrap it across the RD and sticks to the other side. Then you cut a 3/4" strip to wrap it around the perimeter of the reservoir that locks the strip that wraps around the RD. It's solid as a rock and It will Never fall off. I have a $600 Escort Redline. If I knew how to post a picture I'd show it to you. I can make a video of it if anyone is interested. PM me an email and I'll send it to you. When you get to your destination, it takes two seconds to open up the straps and put it in your pocket. :)
