I am really hard on Watchs. I can break just about anything. I have been wearing a Skagen Titanium for 3-4 years every day and there isnt a scratch on it. I know this has nothing to do with where to buy a watch but there you go.
Thanks for the info. What I have learned, at least for the watch crystal- there are terrible (cheap) to awesome (expensive) types of watch glass crystals. Acrylic, mineral, and sapphire are the three types of crystals commonly used in watches. Acrylic crystal is an inexpensive plastic that allows shallow scratches to be buffed out. Mineral crystal is composed of several elements that are heat-treated to create an unusual hardness that helps resist scratches. Sapphire is the most expensive and durable crystal, approximately three times harder than mineral crystals and 20 times harder than acrylic crystals.I am really hard on Watchs. Shopnbc has this for under $300!
Not quite the same one. Thanks though~!Shopnbc has this for under $300!
I have to say that Rolex Oyster is one ugly watch. I honestly wouldn't wear it if it were given to me. But that's just me.Jeez, I'm with Wheatie. If I WERE going to buy an expensive watch, It'd be one of those Rolex Oyster Submariners. Good tough, heavy, solid watch. You know, the kind James Bond used as a set of brass knuckles. Here's one. Only $26,460.Target- $10.
But I don't wear a wristwatch. Not after the advice Peter Fonda, as Damien Blaine, offered up at the end of "Wild Hogs." Remember? "Lose the watches."
p.s. Edited to add: Just happened to stumble upon this. Note what Fonda does at about the 12-second point. Fun-to-watch intro or trailer for "Easy Rider." I wonder how many of us got our early moto wanderlust fired up watching this flick?

Yep, I can see why some watches appreciate over time. :clapping:https://www.amazon.com/Heuer-Monaco-Chronograph-Mens-Watch/dp/B002AK2O34/ref=pd_sbs_watch_1 Whoa zenwhipper, this watch thread was an eye opener for me. I had a massive heart attack on October 8, 2005; I said if I survived I was going to buy myself the watch I'd always dreamed about: A Tag Heuer Monaco "Steve McQueen" watch.
So, I splurged $2,650 on my Tag on 10/28/05. Your thread motivated me to see what they are now worth: Over $1,500 more than I paid for it. I had better stop wearing my Monaco Heuer McQueen daily and get some insurance on that sucker, muy pronto! Muchas Gracias, mi Amigo!
