I will be in need of a set of rubber in a short while and wondered what brand and model I should consider for my 2005 FJR. I believe it has original tires on it now ( Bridgestone) as it has 4200 miles.

Any help would be appreciated because the bike is heavier than anything I have ever owned and that could make a difference. I'm 220lbs if that makes a difference. I don't carry a passenger either. Wife don't trust me because I like the horsepower if you know what I mean.

Should be posted under the never ending threads. You will get unending answers and opinions such as mine. AVONS! Best mileage and handling of the lot. Plus they have the replacement, at least I think its replacing the ST45/46, the new Avon Storms, data thread here on this site under parts and accessories. No test data yet. We will await the results from the LD Guru's and the test mules.

Look in the FAQ section at 03'-05' bin O facts, and the never ending section (where this will soon be) and be prepared for the following dog pile for not searching! :D :p :p

Pirelli Diablo Strada - best performance tire I've run. Make sure to get the special "E" version for the FJR rear.

Wait until the new Avons get tested by somebody else. With any luck you'll need new tires in two months anyway.

Just put them on my 06. Metzlers went nearly 9000 miles front and back.

Steering was getting very heavy towards the end of their life requiring lots of lower bar input to get the bike to turn.

DS on 05 were just fine.

06 AE still in shop waiting for AE fixes to be delivered and installed.
