Better get this Castrol 4T before they change the price back to normal

Hopefully all the early buyers will get their money back unless the seller takes the hit and honours their orders.

I bought 2x6 qts on the other posting with an $8.00 coupon. I believe that is still available.

Interestingly, they cancelled my order (didn't charge me anything), and still sent me three bottles of synthetic oil.

That was pretty "strand-up" of the seller. Although it's a shame that the ad was written so poorly.

Ah well.

I received the oil today and a few minute later opened a dispute with Amazon.

I originally ordered (2) units and 20 min later decided to go ahead and order another (4) units. Was hoping to get 36 quarts but received 6 quarts.

Interesting that what started out as a good deal turned into nearly twice the regular price of the 6 quart pack. I spent $79.26 (6 x 13.21) and received 6 quarts. The price showing now is $48.46 for 6.

Oh well I'll just let Amazon step in and fix it.

EDIT: The seller already responded.

Hello Brandon,

That listing was a mistake and the Q/A section represents multiple sellers.
It has since been removed and you will be getting a refund. The oil you received is yours to keep.

Thanks
Harrison

Hopefully. The response above was in regards to my first order or $26. I have not had a response on the $52 order but I suspect it should be the same.

It's nice that they let me keep it as it is essentially a free oil change. I would have gladly sent it back to them on their dime if that's what they wanted.

FYI..Amazon is pretty good about customer relations. I contacted them last year on a delayed shipping issue. I ordered 5-6 things (one being a set of Xtravision bulbs) The order was shipped in 2 pkgs. Most of the items arrived within the 2 day period. The only thing I was really waiting for were the bulbs and they took 4 days. I sent a note explaining my dissatisfaction and questioning why I pay for prime if they can't hold up their end.

Customer service was great and offered me a $25 gift card.

bseelbach, that's good info. i got my 4 quarts today. i'm not in as deep as you so may let it ride.

Well, ****...I ordered 2 of the 10-50 "pack of 6." Got an email earlier that it shipped, and it looks like it may only be 2 bottles. Just sent the seller an email too. WTF?

I may just refuse the package. I don't need a $13 bottle of oil. I can get Yamalube from the dealer for less.

Just click on "file a claim" or "return."

They will either credit the whole thing and you will have some free oil or they will send you a prepaid return tag and have UPS come pick it up from you.

Or refuse it as you said.

Sorry for the confusion all. Just trying to share what looked like a good deal.

This vendor must be crazy though. He obviously knows what is going on and still continues to ship these out.

Everyone should simply file a claim. They should have made this right without shipping stuff and making it worse.

It was just a clerical error until they shipped.

The vendor does have a 100 percent satisfaction rating.

If I had to guess, they figured out how to minimize the loss and shipped the oil with the intention of crediting anyone who asks about it to ward off negative reviews.

We will see. I think that they did tell some of us to just "keep it", which is what I will expect them to do. Or take it back and credit me 100 percent with no Shipping charges.

I was hoping this was a legitimate fire sale or closeout but I understand that mistakes do happen. The vendor is in damage control mode. I'm sure they saw the orders light up over the weekend and realized they had a problem.

Not shipping is not an option and Amazon would be all over them. I suspect that "out of stock" would get them a demerit on the Amazon system as well. This could severely hurt a small company with low Amazon sales in the last 12 months.

Customers who noticed the potential issue and contacted them were probably their best situation..they resolved it without any losses. For the rest of us they shipped 1 quart/order.

@ $13.21 per quart this oil is considerably overpriced compared to other listings. There is no way I would just accept it and let the charges stand. They will love these guys. The vendor simply gets a normal sale for overpriced oil. I also wouldn't refuse delivery as that is simply handing the vendor their next best option which is to lose only the shipping charges. Since you refuse shipment you really cant complain about the transaction.

Hit the "File a Claim" button in Amazon and briefly explain that you bought a product that clearly stated it was sold in packs of 6. It may be a vendor mistake but it is certainly not an over site on the customers part. They can figure out what to do because doing nothing is clearly false advertising. The lesser of the 2 evils for the vendor (from purely a financial standing) would be to pay for return shipping but that would still result in negative reviews.

Letting us keep the oil is simply a calculated response at this point.

Here is what I received 5 minutes after filing a claim

Hello,

This listing was a mistake. you will be refunded and the oil is yours to keep.
Thanks
Harrison

Seems reasonable to me ... Anyone who ordered this oil should do this. It may not be as good of a deal as originally thought but I did end up with 3 free quarts of oil ...

They are obviously doing the best they can to keep people happy ...

Interesting. Oil received but Amazon doesn't have any listing of my 'purchase'. Does this mean I'm not charged? If an order is cancelled, does Amazon still list it in account?

I sent the seller a message asking him about the differences in my invoice and email. He responded like the others: Advertising mistake, money refunded and 2 bottles of oil are mine to keep. My parents owned a small company, and I don't like taking advantage of anyone. I responded telling him I would refuse the package if I could and thanked him for good customer service. He appreciated that and said it would help if I could refuse the shipment. I will if I can, as I won't be out anything, and I'll feel better that he won't be either. We'll see...

Looks like the price is fixed now, but at 42 dollars for 6 is still not a bad price. 7 bucks a quart. So is this stuff comparable to Mobil 1 4T?

I had been a Mobil 4T user for a long time. When they raised the price to $71.00 per 6 pack on Amazon, I started to look elsewhere ... I found this stuff and have not looked back ... It is always around $40 to $48 on Amazon.

It runs fine and I cant tell any difference with the Mobil ... Both very good oils ...

Interestingly, they are priced the same at places like cyclegear etc .... But on amazon, the Castrol is always way less costly.

I run it 5,000 to 6,000 miles without issue ...
