Betty's Bikes & Buns Is No More

Yup, sad, but true. I stopped by this afternoon on my scooter only to read a small sign sitting on a cardboard box in the parking lot: Betty's Bikes & Buns is closed...we'll cherish the memories.

Anyone have any guesses? I'll post up any info that I can dig up.

A very sad day indeed in the Twin Cities.

I stopped by there today. They nearly lost the business. The business was given until tonight at 5PM to move out. As it turned out many rider showed up last night to helped pack it in.... But people rallied and many dollars was raised to keep the land lord at bay, and Mayor Tim Paulenty showed up to show his support for local small merchants. Many phone calls were made and financing was secured....at least for the mean time anyway. They are working on re-installing all the gear tonight. If you want to help go ahead and show up. But tommorow there will be a large gathering. All in support of a local MC hangout. If you are looking for a place to hang out and care about local MC friendly establishments SHOW UP! And don't stop during the winter months. Small businesses need your support to get through the winter months. Don't forget that they are still there during the winter. And this applies to everyone in every community. If you don't support them in the off season, they may not be there the next year! So all is good and they are working their butts off to get it put back together tonight.

Well, I was going to save Betty's Buns but they seem to be in good hands.

And as we all know, winter in MN is from September to June!!! Doesn't leave much time to turn a profit

The Mayor of Minneapolis is RT Rybak. Tim Pawlenty is the GOVERNOR of Minnesota.
