Here are a few pictures on my way through Big Sur enroute to WFO-5 (took the long way around up the coast)

These pictures are from US1 right on the coast.

Google Earth route (so you can fly it) and Garmin GPS track can be downloaded here if you would like.

Unfortunately (picture wise) there was a heavy marine layer most of the trip.

Fortunately (temperature wise) it was a perfect 60F all the way to Monterey!

This was the first part of the trip I could almost think of snapping a few pictures and see something other than fog.

This was about a quarter way between San Luis Obispo & Monterey.

Some very tame squirrels, this is not a high powered zoom.

Camera lens is less than a foot away from the squirrel.

A view from the cockpit (can't get any closer without going over the edge)

I guess my pinstripes must really light up at night

A few more of the area, further up the coast

I hope you enjoyed the quick review.

If you have a chance, US1 is a great coastal ride!

Thanks, that is beautiful. Some of it is similar to U.S. 1 on the upper Maine coast. Can't wait to get to the left side of the country!

Is each post limited to 10 pictures?

I tried adding this trip overview but it gave me an error (too many pictures)

Nice! You had good weather going up. The fog, er, scuze me, marine layer was in thickon the way back for me, not to mention the never ending conga line of cages. I think I'll pass out route one south of Monterey for the rest of the summer.
