One of the retired guys that sit in the corner at the local Tim Horton's loaned me some photos when he used to pit crew for #99 "Scorcie" Palser.

This is where the term "Shade Tree Mechanic" came from....

Scorcie and the must have flat tracker in 1956, the Manx Norton....

The race that day was at the Oshawa Fairgrounds (now long gone) just north of the hospital. It's all strip malls and houses now.....

The halftime entertainment was before the days of freestyle MX and double backflips. Back then one of the riders would ride his bike through a ring of fire to wow the crowd....

It was either that or it is a photo of a BMW final drive exploding.

Next time you are in Bowmanville stop in at Timmy's and buy Albert a coffee for saving these photos for the last 59 years.

I was 4 years old when these photos were taken.

Muy Bueno Guillermo, Muchas Gracias Hombre! "I was 4 years old when these photos were taken." You Gringos know how to tell when a Canuckistani is lying to you, their lips will be moving! JSNS, Hosers!

By the way Billy Fitz, that was Dave "Pops" Niehart riding #173 in this photo; Mr. Black was 24 when this pic was taken, JSNS: Ye Olde Farte!

Very cool! I am going to scan some pictures of my grandparents and great grandparents on motorcycles and post them up in the next couple days. Especially one really cool one of my great grandfather and 7 or 8 of his friends on their Harleys that have dead deer on the back of each bike after hunting on the bikes! It is really cool!

Fixed for you Don!
