I'll be there no matter what, so let's start a list of who's in on this! I'll be out of town from Friday to Tuesday, so you can add your own name to the list from here on out. Of course you can just show up also! lol

My wife will not permit me to ride that many miles...

Fixed it for ya BD. :)

Sat the 20th or Sun the 21st? Any decision made yet? Gotta work LATE the 19th, Play-by-play on a local high school football game, so I get in rather late and Sat afternoon might be tough.

However, I'd love to meet a bunch of Yammie-Hoolies.

Tanks!

[hijack]The above reminds me of a recent incident...a co-worker just picked up an '84 Goldwing for $2k. Let me take it for a spin. GAWD, what a tank! Slow, heavy, cumbersome, vibrates like a thumper, and with all that fairing and huge windscreen, made my FJR feel like it was airconditioned. Hard to believe what Wing riders had to live with 20-some years ago. The newer 'wings have GOT to be better. They couldn't be worse.[/hijack]

Back on topic, told Missus Howie I was goin' "to the beach" Oct. 20th, so add one more to the list.

Goob...we need to plan our own little ride up there...I'll PM you a couple of route suggestions.

RTSR1 and I had been talkin' earlier and I'm gonna leave here early, well not too early LOL, Sat morning and go to to his house in Titusville to bum a cup of coffee and follow him to where ever it is we're all meetin' up. I was just gonna "super slab" it over to Titusville via I-4, the 417, and the Bee Line then turn up I-95. Wanna do that maybe? How late will you be with the football game Fri night?

I'll be getting home 11'ish Fri night, so we could hook-up at I-4 & 27 at an agreed upon time Saturday morning for the slab-burn, if that's amenable to you. Just give me a hook-up time and we can grab an early cup'o at one of the fast food joints at Baseball City, then do the scoot to Titusville.

Glad ya made it home in fine fashion Rodd. :)

Rodd, Steve and you fine folks I haven't had the pleasure of meeting yet,,, got some bad news about 30 mins ago. Well, not bad but bummed me out. I won't make it to meet up with y'all. :(

Since the bike has almost 28k miles on it, I thought I'd go ahead and service it this week but I just didn't/don't have time. So I took it to Sky Powersports here in Lakeland, whom I've always had great dealings with, to get them to do the valves and a general service, oil, coolant flush, all that ole stuff. Dropped it off late yesterday and the service mgr said I should be able to pick it up this evening. Well, I thought that was sorta optimistic and I figured I'd have it Thu or Fri with no problem. Service mgr called my a little while ago stating that the valve cover gasket and o-rings for the valve cover bolts were badly degraded and crumbling. Same for a couple of coolant system o-rings. I thought to myself, "welp, there goes this Sat". Of course they didn't have the o-rings and valve cover gasket in stock.

I trust Sky Power in Lakeland like I said earlier. I've had nothing but great dealings with them since I've been here in Lakeland, Fl for over 5 years now. I usually do all this kind of work, even engine rebuilds and "hop ups" myself but I was in a pinch this week. I should have waited. I was really lookin' forward to meetin' you buncha nuts and seein' my 2 ole buddies again. Another day I suppose. Now I gotta do yardwork this weekend since it isn't so hot. Oh well.

EDIT: 2 good things did happen when I got home today. Got my service manual and SST brake lines. :D
