After seeing it in person, here is my .02. I like the look of the triple tree and dash. I also like the mileage and temperature additions to the guages. If the new air flow improvements make a difference, then that is a welcome change. The dual cooling fans are also welcome, though I have never heard of anyone with overheating troubles. oh .... the polished wheels are very sweet, as is the new windshield look. Other than that, I still like my '05 better. Here are my dislikes ...... The rear rack, although sleeker in it's new low profile position, doesn't allow any room underneath for wrapping a strap around or holding on to. The side plastic fairing openings ... they just seemed flimsy to me., in fact, one of them was already broken on the demo model. I think the mirrors look a bit odd. I like the painted exterior, but the mirror sticks out the front. If it was recessed back in to the housing it would look better IMHO. Having never operated the no clutch design, I'll reserve judgement, but the cheap plastic mechanism sticking out the left side looks like breakage waiting to occur. With the price increase, the weight increase, and the continuation of blue or silver colors, I'll wait another year and see what '07 brings.
Now these are just my opinions, and my lack of wanting to buy one certainly does not exclude me from wanting to ooogle yours at the next EOM or gathering.
Since I was with some cruiser fella's, we also had to look at the new Star line. I felt as though they suffered the same fate. Although the new cosemetics looked good, it was all plastic trim and very flimsy plastic. Nothing felt firm or tight or like it was going to last. Time will tell, I am not a designer or engineer, so I could be wrong.
