With Dean's permission -

Yes, its that time again. "Bite the Wieeenie" at Pink?s in Los

Angeles, Nov 22, 2008.

PINK'S - HOME OF THE WORLD'S BEST CHILI DOG (I'm sure this comment

will be challenged)

Pink's is an honest-to-god Hollywood icon, sub-cultural gathering spot

and 2007 IBR bonus location. The establishment doesn't know we are

coming nor do they care. Whether you're John McCain, Barack Obama,

Angelina Jolie, Elvis, Steve Jobs, or Lisa Landry, everyone waits in

line. And the 1-hour+ wait at midnight for a $2.85 hot dog is a

unique experience. Jacked up pickups, Porsches, pimpmobiles, and

junkers all share a miniscule parking lot while stretch limos and

Hummers circle the block while their contents wait in the 1-hour+

line. Besides us LDRiders with ATGATT, it would not be unusual to see

unique body piercing, facial tattoos, the best body modifications that

money can buy, spikes and dreadlocks, prom dresses, grunge street wear

and barefoot surfers standing in line.

HOT DOG MENU

If you're into hot dogs . . . check this amazing menu out.

https://www.pinkshollywood.com/pgz/menu.htm

The top of the line gastrointestinal bomb is the "THREE DOG NIGHT" --

3 hot dogs, wrapped in a giant tortilla, 3 slices of cheese, 3 slices

of bacon, chili & onions remains the same price as last year ?

$6.45!!!!!!!! Make a list so when you get to the front of the line,

you don't start stuttering, mumbling or talking pig latin.

LANE SPLITTING

The sub theme for this event is "Lane Splitting" or the most fun you

can have with your butt in a continuous high pucker mode!!!! You've

heard IBR, SPANK, CAL24 and LA City 1K "We Were Stupid First" riders

talk of the infamous California lane splitting. Now's your chance to

test your gluttonous maximus sphincter reflex by diving into the arm

pit of Los Angeles for a midnight stomach churning Pink's chili dog.

Lane splitting will be at it's peak during normal rush hour 3:00 PM -

8:00 PM.

WHEN

Saturday, Nov 22, 2008

Official Agenda +/- 60 minutes

10:00 PM - Tire kickin', tall tails, and flat out lies

10:45 PM - Informal ?Pimp My LD Ride? contest (this was so informal

that we didn't do it last year) and "Furthest Distance Rode"

11:00 PM - Line standing and general whining

12:00 midnight - Hot dog mass consumption

1:30 AM Go home

WHY MIDNIGHT???

It's a perfect Saddlesore Ride for WA, ID, MT, WY, SD, CO, OK, NM,

TX. Leave at midnight Saturday morning, arrive at Pink's within 24

hours later to get your witness signatures. There will be dozens of

witnesses on hand. If you are doing a IBA witness required ride,

please let Dean Tanji know with your RSVP e-mail. Last year RenoJohn

won the unofficial distance bragging rights with a 575 miles ride.

Unfortunately, the Washington and Texas riders were weathered out.

RSVP: Via e-mail to Dean Tanji, [email protected]

Please RSVP off-line to eliminate list clutter!!

I've already RSVP'd Dean in the affirmative.

I dunno, seems like there's not alot of time to figure out which dog I want.

I'm not interested in hot dogs or chile. That being said, this sounds awesome. Lane splitting, people watching and comradery all sound like a great time. The only thing missing is a full moon and maybe a trip to Rocky Horror. Remind me to have you write the copy for my next boring investment seminar. Count me in as a definite "I have no idea".

I've spoken with a certain young lady, and there's a good chance, grades permitting, that I might be accompanied.
That's it, I'm in.
Needed a better reason that seein' a bunch of ugly LD guys chomp on weiners.

...a year ago this gig ..on the way down attempted to rendevous with said young lady at some freezing band competition up in Landcaster. Rendevous didn't work out, Froze my *** off, but did make it to the weiner chomp.

NOVEMBER? Crap I was ready to go next week...

I don't think Reseda to West Hollywood/Los Angeles/Beverly Hills (pick one) quailfies for IBR...

I rode down to Pink's a few years ago maybe more. I met up with dougc and eric v at the 152- I-5 exit. It actually rained that evening. We got a hotel room at the motel 6 for a few hours of shut eye before and after the event. Was a real blast except for the wet weather. The dogs are fantastic. Maybe again this year on the 03 is she makes it. lol

I was at Pinks that year too. It was dry all the way down I-5, but when I got to LA it poured buckets. I barely knew anybody then. Looking forward to it this year. Bring the rain! :yahoo:

Remind me closer to Nov 22nd and I'll be there.
Bump for this upcoming event.

vectervp1,

It was great meeting you in Los Lunas at the Land of Enchantment rally.

Here is a reminder for you and others that this event is upcoming in 11 days.

Any chance you can make it out for this event???

Also hope to see Mr. Eeksnake again.

Have you decided what you will be having yet??

I am looking forward to a "Three Dog Night" myself,

Doug
