I should point out that using a mobile phone whilst driving here gets you a £60 fine and 3 points on your licence (12 points and you lose it, a speeding ticket in a 30 zone will also get you 3).

Trundling along today in traffic on a 4 lane road, between 20 & 40 mph. A 'hot hatch' as we call them. (Sporty hatch back), was in front of me with a blonde driving, about 21 years old on the phone. She was having a lovely time discussing nail polish and such. I was on the inside lane aproaching some lights, she spotted that the lane I was in had a shorter queue and decided it was where she wanted to be. Without any signal or looking in the mirror, she cut across and in front of me. I had been expecting it to say the least. I dabbed the brake and let go with my ''magnum blasters''. She swereved back just as quick and stopped in the line, still chatting and without even a sideways glance at me.

I pulled along side and looked in at her. She was so engrossed and involved, she wasn't going to let a grubby motorcylcist spoil her fun. As we set off I let go with the horn again, The lights were at a fork in the road and I was going left and she was going right. She looked this time and I gestured twice that she should put the phone down, she pulled a face at me and to my amaizement flipped the phone shut and put it down.

My lane moved slower than hers which meant that from behind a truck out of my view emerged a bike cop. He was now directly behind her and had seen it all. He lifted the front of his flip front helmet (they all wear them here) and gave me the slightest of smiles as he accelerated up to her.

Made my day. :yahoo:

What I wouldn't give to have a law like that in the US of A .Way way too many people driving and talking on the cell phone. Or should I say talking on the cell phone and trying to drive.

Mac

Last summer a guy at the stoplight in front of me on a Harely, pulled out his cell phone, made a call and drove away talking on the cell. Its a wonder they could hear him with the Harley pipes. Needless to say I got away from him as quick as I could.

Prolly callin' his Harley club to say "Hey bro,...there's this cool Japanese bike behind me."

+1 :good: .....

had the exact same thing happen week before last. in my case it was bozo in a beat-up mini-truck. the MB blast jerked him back into his lane. sadly, in my case, there was no LEO to meet out justice.

Man, the title had me thinking of a whole different scenario. You need to learn some English. :p

+1. Sounded like you lost a race, or a collision.

Justice is (sometimes) sweet!

I like the "Hot hatch" reference, works for the driver as well in some cases. I'm gonna add that to the ol' vocabulary.

Finally some justice. :yahoo: And okmac, they do have a law for that in NY. The only problem is they don't enforce it. The other day, I was riding down a 6 lane secondary road. We were coming up to a light and it turned yellow, then red before we got to the light. Everybody stops, except for this asshole in a BMW. He blew through the light, on his cell phone, directly in front of a sheriff!!! What was the sheriff's reaction? Nothing. No justice here.

ITs about time in new york its the phone ,newspaper, nailpolish , you name it i have seen it and they dont give a ****
