After a challenging couple of weeks, it was time to blow off the cobwebs. And what better way than to enjoy this horrid “winter” we are having here in CA! Headed out for the coast as the ocean always energizes and invigorates one’s spirit.
We started off in Los Altos for a little caffeination. We saw this little spitfire on her set of wheels… she was off like a rocket and mom had to run to keep up with her… too cute!
Coming up 84, the smell of the redwoods heightened the senses and the sunlight streamed through the trees… it was beautiful!
I think you can see Dana’s SEG beaming through her helmet…
Pescadero Rd.
Pescadero Beach – it was about 10 warmer out by the coast than it had been riding through the hills
Babes on the beach
My traveling companions for the day… they kept me smiling!
Kharon & Holly
Doreen and Dana
Yours truly brushing up on the poseur skills
It was an absolutely glorious day!
Even though Kharon’s bike was feeling a bit chilly…
Holly is quite the character
From there, we headed to a really great place that I had driven through once before but had forgotten about… Costanoa. It’s right off of Hwy. 1 between the lighthouse and Davenport. We had lunch there and walked around the grounds and I thought this would be an awesome place for a group event… not really far away, great riding roads, fun events for families, etc. Stay tuned for that!
The road in takes you through the eucalyptus trees… the smell reminds me of when I was growing up as our street had them growing there as well.
Chairs are placed around the property for the best ocean and sunset viewing
A view of one section of the tent bungalows… you can also camp there in your own tent
The bungalows have chairs, fire pits, and bbq areas
They have a small store on site as well and, from what I’ve heard, some great wines
After a wonderful, uncrowded lunch, we headed back up Hwy 1, taking Bean Hollow (been ages since I’ve been on that one!) to Stage Rd. We had stopped for a photo opp and when we looked ahead, saw a peacock in the road!
Holly and Kharon next to the wild statue on Stage Rd… shoulda gotten a close up shot of it but it’s way cool
Holly & Kharon on Stage Rd.
That little speck in about the middle of the road is Kharon
Final shot – view from Stage Rd. (that’s the ocean in the distance) – great weather, great ride, great friends.
Hope y'all got out to play!
