While the horizon isn't exactly correct, and the technical aspects of the image are far from perfect...

... the visual impact is far better than my wildest expectations.

One Android smartphone, five photos taken from the seat of the FJR (still wearing winter gloves and helmet), and not more than five minutes with PhotoShop Elements 8.x and the Panorama function. IMHO Amazing results!

It was 18F on the BRP Saturday morning. The view on the shady side of the mountains was a breathtaking Winter Wonderland of frost covered EVERYTHING. My malfunctioning heated gear convinced me to stay on the bike rather than dismount for a picture. You had to be there to believe it anyway.

But this morning was a much warmer 34F so I stopped on the sunny side and made this picture. THIS is why we never shut up about the BRP.

Having ridden the BRP and Cherohala a couple of times, I'd second that ! :D

Both times were during fall colours. I'd love to ride in the spring when the rhodies are in bloom or even now with the frost.

Been riding the Parkway every chance I've gotten since '97 and never get tired of it. Every time I leave it, I can't wait to go back again. Did it twice this year and hope to do it at least twice next year. Some of the best sunset and sunrise pictures I've taken were from the deck next to the dining room at the Pisgah Inn (mile 408).

Nice pick Jeff. The BRP is one of those places that when you get the chance to ride it pretty fast, you say "Wow that was awesome!" and when you stop and just sit and watch the sites, you say "Wow this is just awesome!".

And when your stuck in Canada and the snow is on the ground, you say "Man this just sucks!" Makes we want to load that trailer again and head your way.

You know our motto... Y'all come on back now, ya hear!

I'm with ya, brother! My wife's first real multi-day, far-from-home ride was the the BRP this past fall top to bottom including the Dragon, and the NC side of the Cherohala....

She is bitten by the bug! Got me a new trailer, yes it did! ;) I never tire of the Parkway, it's just such a relaxing ride. And fun as hell if you want to push it in the corners  !
