Sooooo ... as the newb rally-rider, can those registered for IBR 2015 identify themselves? Forum names will suit me; I just want some FJR pilots to cheer for. A few are mentioned above ... and I apologize if this jinxes things.

Thanks, BkerChuck; I've got real names associated with those noms de plume. Good luck and Godspeed, gentlemen.

ON TOPIC: Twigg asks an interesting question in post #34 that I did not see answered in the instructions: Can one complete the triangle and continue cashing in bonus photos? If yes, that opens a crazy strategy that might be quite competitive.

Will fire that one off to Senor RenoJohn.

If you read all of post #34 Twigg answers his own question. Closing the triangle is your last bonus.

One more FJR rider to watch in the IBR is Scott Thornton. Not sure if he's a member here or not. Did well through leg 1 in '13 but lost a camera somehow on leg 2 which took him out of contention.

I for one had a fantabulous time on this rally. Chelle and I had no intention of winning, that's why we came in 16th overall ;) The main goal for us was to see if we could do it and how well she would cope with the circumstances.

If you read RenoJohn's comments on us- he alluded to overcoming a challenge, Chelle has MS.... so yes, we did in fact *compete* and accomplished our goals :)

If we do it again, I will opt for a bit more aggressive ;)

An inspiration for sure... give her a hug from me, please... B)

Yep.

Amazing what you find out when you read the instructions

AHA! "Rider Page/ Bonus Listing" is now available. Prior to -- and at least for some time during -- the Rally, it required a rider login to access the complete rules. I was working off the "overview" and real-time scoreboard.

Yes, I agree, one should actually read instructions before asking questions.

It definitely helped having the packet during the rally. :) I was riding, hitting refresh a lot, and had to keep track of corner bonus snags and rest bonuses.

I know Erik and myself will be working through an analysis. I'm still dumbfounded we tied in the end...a great outcome that tells me rally organizers totally had the individual triangles setup for equality no matter what corner you started. In broadest strokes I think its fair to say the Ridgecrest to Bend leg had more point density, but will need to crunch some numbers to validate.

Props to RenoJohn and staff for putting on a truly great rally. Props to all the riders. And a big, sweaty, grinning thumbs-up to Erik Lipps. I rode my ass off in response to his first leg and he rode his ass off knowing I'd be doing that leg in the end. To tie is just poetic. :)

Welcome back Matt.

That was one helluva ride.

The entire 3rd day was touch and go and it was impossible to split your routes. I knew Erik's rough plan so I could guess his total. I didn't know yours but I did know where you were.

In the end I would have hated for either of you to have lost the top spot ... Good luck in the IBR.

I'm not riding the IBR this year.

But, Erik is as a rookie...and he's ready! I threw everything I had at him and responded with IBR level skill.

Scott's not riding in the IBR this year. Also, his FJR broke down on the recent Mason Dixon 20-20 Rally leaving him stranded. I think something to do with his clutch.

Ignacio brought up Erik.

Add Perry Karsten to the list. He has already announced that he is participating over on the Dark Side thread.

Ummmmm, perhaps the IBR discussion should move to a dedicated IBR thread. (JS, because I was reminded of my own 'wandering thread content' last week.)

By the way, Senor RenoJohn answered emphatically that posting your arrival to the last vertex was the end of your rally. He added something about riders going off chasing crazy bonus points, which made me wonder if he's had experience doing just that. That guy gets serious credit from me for his techno-twist to rallying. Makes things a lot easier to check, and (as Ignacio alluded in post #51) riders get the opportunity to keep track of their competitors.
