As a 40 year guzzler of delicious Bayerischen Motoren Werke Kool-Aid I'd heard many stories of legendary R7, but had never seen a photo before. And I go to BMW AG Museum every single time that I'm in Munchen. One of our members in AZ Beemers, Geoff Oprandy-ROUNDEL, owns 1936 R5. Looks like R7 has "Kompressor" cylinder heads from land speed record holder.

I toured many thousands of miles on this bike:
Old (1950) -- but not as old as the R7...., not quite as stylish either.

I heard they boxed 'em after they started toasting ass ends. So it wasn't just the R7 they re-introduced in 05 then?
