This is wonderful news! Hopefully things will go smoothly and there will be no rejection issues. It's going to be like getting a new life for Bobby. Bobby will no longer will be '05 BobbyBlue and get a little pink back
and just be plain ol' Bobby.

Isn't it amazing that a gift of life is possible, when you can no longer live? Bobby is truly blessed with a new life. I'm sure he will continue to make the most of it. Glad to see a happy ending to what has been a long story, told with a lot of humor and faith.

Organ donor side note. A friend of mine at work lost his dad in a tragic ATV accident last month. He told me that because he was a registered donor that someone else was able to receive his eyes and got the gift of sight back.
It made me verify I still had the organ donor logo on my drivers license.
The fact that his dads eyes were able to help someone else see made the tragedy slightly more bearable for my friend and his family.
Being a motorcycle rider I feel that I am slightly more vulnerable out on the road and therefore more likely to be in a position to offer up some used hardware. I hope I don't but I won't be able to decide quickly if I am in that predicament.

As all others have voiced, what great news! Finding a match, and getting the surgery done are huge hurdles for our FJR friend Bobby. But he's not quite out of the woods yet... What happens in the next couple of days is critical to his full and swift recovery. So I, for one, am keeping the good vibes headed his way.

Please take the simple step to be a donor too. The gift you will leave is a lifetime for someone else. Bobby Finical and I thank you for all your support. If all goes well he can be home in about 10 days to 2 weeks. These first days will be tough as they started the anti rejection meds and auto immune medicine. All the prayers are felt and still needed."

This is all so very encouraging. Very happy for Bobby and his wife. Maybe someday I'll get to hear him play his guitar now.

Flew up to Minneapolis from Dallas lickity split. She had that donor kidney for nearly 20 years. Yes, modern medicine is an amazing gift. So as you can imagine, my family and most (if not all) of my extended family will be donors if the situation arises. It's not like I'll need any of it anyways when my ticket gets punched.
