Unlike SOME riders (O.M. please take note) I like to give more than 20 minutes advance notice of my planned "adventure".

I was uninvited to the last ride but since then I've been longing to taste some of the bounty of the Pacific Ocean.

Soooooooo.........

The Plan:

Leave Sacramento, head West toward Bodega Bay.

The Route:

West on I-80, North on 113, West on Russell Blvd. to Hwy 128 through Winters and stop at Moscowite Corners (intersection of Hwy 128 & Hwy 121).

From Moscowite Corners, ride West on Hwy 128 to North on Silverado Trail to Calistoga, left on Lincoln Ave/Hwy 29 through town and Right on 128 to the Arco (on the left @ Petrified Forest Road).

From there, ride up the hill on Petrified Forest Rd. and bear right Porter Creek Rd. (which becomes Mark West Springs Rd.....in Mark West Springs), cross Hwy 101 (where the road name changes to Trenton-River Rd.) to Mirabel and jog left/South to Guerneville Rd. Turn Rt and ride Hwy 116 to Guerneville.

From there we could either continue to Hwy 101 South or go South on the Bohemian Hwy through Occidental and turn right on Bodega Hwy/Hwy 12 to Hwy 1 North.

Either of the above options work for me and there's only about 10-15 minutes difference. That will be about 150 miles @ 3 1/2 hours riding...plus social time and rest stops.

The Time:

I'm thinking..... :hyper:

Leave West Sacramento @ 0900. Figuring 4-4 1/2 hours to get to Bodega that puts lunch around 1300-1330, after the "normal" lunch hour.

The Place:

IIRC, don't we usually eat at the restaurant at the fish dock? Bay View restaurant at The Tides Inn?

BTW..... shhhhh, don't tell Barb or MEM there may be dark chocolate provided for desert. Sort of an apolgy to them...er...uhm...we're sorry they can't join us. Yes, we WILL take pictures!

The Route Home:

Ooooohhhhh the possibilities!

The looooong way:

North on Hwy 1, East on Stewart Point/Skaggs Springs Rd.

(If you're going to ride that, 6 miles above the Russian River/Hwy 116 you could take the right at Meyers Grade Rd. and stay on that. It becomes Seaview Rd. and runs along the East side of Salt Point State Park. Turn right @ Hauser Bridge Rd. (14 miles) which becomes Tin Barn Rd. and "T's" into Stewart Point Rd @ 23.7 miles.)

Head back to Calistoga and take Hwy 29 North (Yee-freakin'-haw) to Middleton, around the East side of Clear Lake and right on Hwy 20 (great sweepers!) to right on Hwy 16 through Cache Creek and through Woodland......

South on Hwy 1 through Valley Ford, stay left on Valley Ford Rd. (as opposed to following Hwy 1 South) to left on Bodega Rd. to Petaluma.

Heck, there are just too many great ways to get here (wherever your "here" is) from there. I don't recall any bad ways to get home from the coast.....except it will likely be "warmish".

The Peeps:

Definite maybe. If possible, will meet you at Moskowite or Calistoga Arco.

I will firm up later.

Oh, and why are you excluding Barb?

Mark

If Anne Marie is riding on the back of Mark's bike (Bokerfork) you will have to swing by the Freestone Bakery for a cup of coffee and a cinnamon roll. You all have fun... Rich

Just so you know, we will miss you.

Terri and I are leaving Saturday morning about 8am for a couple of National Parks. First stop Crater Lake, next park Glacier, then Jellystone or was it Moscow.

Anyway, have a great time.

See you in August.

Mike and Terri

I'll not touch that. (Figuratively or literally!)

And please, don't elaborate.

Freak.

Oh, and why are you excluding Barb?
You've never met Barb, have you Mark?

Mikey, I'm going to try make this, especially for the chance to see and chat with Loren (Last Chance).

He owes me money. ;)

And it's especially appealing, given that Dr. Rich will be elsewhere.

It's supposed to be approaching 100 on Saturday.

(I almost bought a cooling vest today, but then I remembered that I was a male, and left the store quickly.)

Count the denmother and I as IN! Thanks MM2. Den mom volunteered bake some fresh scones for breakfast. I will take a head count later.

I so wanted some fried oysters and some scones, (do those go together?), but have to work. And saving my pennies for WFO so you all be safe! PM. <>< :D

You can log me into the Maybe, most likely, column. Cuz I need to get outta dis place!

Cindy and I may be in for catching up with you in Bodega Bay. We would have to take the express route since I have stuff going on til mid-morning. We'll have to see how the morning goes.

Looks like Cyndi and I will have to pass on this as we will be on our way to WFO via Crater lake, Victoria BC, Spokan and East side of Coeur D'alene lake.

Hope we don't run into any Hycle types. Well Terri would be OK but not that other one.

Mr Mike, would you happen to have this route charted in Google maps by chance? I have no idea where any of those roads are

Okay, I'll add her to the list.

I don't even have it in my Garmin yet. These are really easy to find on any map, Ray. I gave a pretty good description though I didn't give miles between turns. Maybe tomorrow night, if I have time...after buying Barb's apology chocolate.

BTW, my sincere apologies to those of you headed for WFO. I did realize some of you would be leaving soon but I wasn't sure who might be able to join us. Terri and Cyndi, I hope you have fun....okay, okay..... and the guys, too. ;)

Thanks Mike. I'll know tomorrow weather I'm running with, or without a GPS unit. I have a feeling it's going to be without tho :(
