I was looking for some Kevlar Jeans for shorter local rides and came across the Bohn Armor website in the search results. This does seem convenient in not having to have specialized protective overpants or jeans.

They are pretty spendy in comparison.

Any Feejers have experience with this product? Good? Bad? Ugly?

I was actually just looking them up when you posted this. Not many reviews I could find, but the ones I did were generally positive. I would rather wear jeans than the overpants and these seems like they'll work.

There are two types, Adventure and the Mesh (for summer). Woud rather not buy two pairs, one of each, right now. Just wondering if you can comfortably wear the Adventure lycra for extended periods in the 90++ Texas heat?

I've got a good friend who can attest to the functionality of Bohn Armor. Last summer he was in an accident wearing Bohn and even after asphalt surfing he walked away w/o any rashes.

A friend of mine uses the Bohn. He really likes it. I have a pair of Sliders that I really like and a pair if Icon Kevlar jeans that are ok, but have always fit weird.

I have a pair of the bohn pants. I put them one once, and never used them. The concept seems good, but I cant imagine how the pads will stay in place during a crash. They are basically inside a stretchy net pair of pants similar to panty hose, but I am sure tougher. I feel like if I was sliding down the pavement, the pads would move right out of the way. I went with a pair of Drayko jeans, and they are top notch. They look very nice also, like a very expensive pair of jeans. I get more compliments from people, and then when I explain that they are Kevlar lined motorcycle jeans, they are surprised. They have very good test vids on youtube also.

I have a pair of the Adventure style (non-mesh) and use them when I don't feel like wearing my mesh overpants. I have no complaints and have not found them to be unbearable in 90+ degree weather but would probably opt for the mesh style if I lived down your way.

I had the opportunity to review the mesh Bohn gear (pants & shirt) for the AMA, but they never published it. My takeaway: I liked the fit of the garments, armor placement was excellent, quality of the armor seemed very good. Plenty of impact protection in the right places, but lacking the abrasion resistance of leathers or textile gear. Takes just as long to slip on as full gear, but you can walk around a bit more easily in it and not be overly hot. My summary was that it would be better than riding in just jeans, and is a good product for those concerned about having *some* protection but who want to "fit in" with a jeans/t-shirt riding crowd. I'm sticking with my textile gear.

Are there any "jeans" that have the following:

1. Armor.

2. abrasion protection

3. zippers for the mesh jacket

I have a 36 inseam so went for a pair of AGV Sport Corsica jeans. My jackets have loops on the connection zipper flap to allow you to hook them round a belt, which is what I do to connect them to the jeans.

Motoport makes a stretch Kevlar pant that is described as a police jean, and it is probably the best pant you can buy in terms of armor, abrasion protection, and you can probably order it with a zipper. Not cheap, and a tad bulky with the armor, but absolutely the pant I want to be wearing in a crash.

I have both the standard and the mess summer version. In my opinion, and my wife's, the summer version is scratchy and not worth the money. The standard version has never felt too hot, even in 95 degree weather, which is just hot no matter what. We like the protection and comfort they provide. I added suspenders to mine, but the wife did not. I also purchased a new set of Jeans that are a little loser fit. We have used them in all weather conditions and never been disappointed. We used them every day on a 4000 mile trip. We purchased a second set for the long trip, to allow for more days between laundry. All and all we have been please (with the exception of the summer mess version we only used once, that was a waste of money).
