Trying to find a new battery for 2009, it has a Yuasa GT14B4-GS, but I can't find a replacement locally that fits. The dimensions of batteries that supposedly fit (as defined by their computer database) just doesn't fit, they are too wide. Online often the dimensions are not provided. Any good hints?

The correct Yuasa is the YT14B-BS. Dimensions are on their website.

Often mistaken for the YTX14-BS which does not fit.

If you are looking for a non-Yuasa battery, use the YT14B-BS (not the YTX) as an equivalent for your search or match the physical dimensions plus the terminal positions. Height and width for the (incorrect) YTX are the same but the YTX is 17 mm deeper - this is a more common size for powersport batteries.

This is the spec sheet for the right one...

Local dealers? Several are within a short hop from you. If that fails, Battery Stuff in Grants Pass will ship one to you in a couple days.

Gen III OEM Yuasa Yamaha part# GT1-4B400-00-00 Gold Series or Yuasa # GT14B4-GS
Partzilla $138.00 . These are OEM replacements made in Taiwan/Japan.
It fits all FJR1300 it came filled sealed.

The YT14B-BS made in USA it arrives empty you fill it with the acid. I've read the GT series made in Asia lasts longer YMMV on this .
There is conflicting info from Partzilla. This is what I received from them concerning this yuasa battery:

“Thank you for reaching out to us. Battery part number GT1-4B400-00-00 is manufactured for GS Yuasa based out of Japan however they do not specifically list where the battery itself was produced as they have production facilities in multiple countries including here in the US. The battery would be shipped dry and acid would have to be added as it is not factory sealed and activated. Please let us know if we can be of further assistance.”
