Handy guide, thanks John,

I originally trained as a millwright, so I should know most of the common nuts and bolt names. But, as I get older, I can see the thing in my mind but I can't remember the official name, so I end up looking for a one inch star socket with a bevelled head, in all the bins, instead of quickly reading the name tags to start looking in the right section. Or, I have to ask someone if they have star socket, bevel headed etc. Duh!

Dang John, you just illustrated how ignorant I must have sounded when I went in to buy supplies for repacking my motorcycle trailer wheel bearings yesterday.

I think my description sounded something like this. "I need four grease seals that fit in a 2 1/2" hole, four metal end caps, and four of those rubber nipple things that cover the grease zerk on the end of the axle. When he asked any more specifics like axle diameter or end cap size the best I could give him was a shrugged shoulder. Some how I got home with all the right parts and the wheel bearings are repacked and ready for the trip to Arkansas April 4th and Red Lodge in June.

If you click on each picture you can open an expanded version of each. I did that then right clicked and saved them to my computer. Handy tid bits. Good looking out.

I saw a lot of pictures of nuts, bolts and screw heads and ****, but not a damn word about screwing.

No help at all.

Why would you be trailering a motorcycle form ND to Red Lodge? That's worth riding all the way!!! Don't be surprised if Bear Tooth is closed due to snow in June.
