Final preparations are underway. This weekend I'll be one of several forum members wearing out their tires on those sweet Wisconsin alphabet roads. Most are competing in the expert class, but Triggert is getting his rally cherry popped. :)

Let the good times roll.

You know, talking about popping my cherry, and then knowing you and Dana are going to be there is enough to make me think about staying at home.

I hope to make it for lunch tomorrow. See you tomorrow, one way or the other.

Dana's not that good I wouldn't get to worried :p

And there is a good chance Stryg8r will break some ribs based on his last few performances.

Stryg8r's date

Riders are all out and they look like they'll be riding in the rain the better part of the day :( Cruzin and Stryg8r were in the zone this morning. Opt8low was eating a bag of chips for breakfast and BSing with the rally crew when he should have been planning and left about an hour late, no surprise there. I met TriggerT for the 1st time yesterday and seemed like a nice guy but he was crabby has hell this morning. As I walked up to check him out he looked at me and said, "You guys think this is fun??? This sucks! I'm seriously thinking about just saying screw this." Maybe riding around on the SW Sconnie alphabets in pouring rain all day will cheer him up.

For not having a route or a plan when I left this morning things ended up OK, but I was ready to through my foooking computer and GPS through the damn wall this morning. The one great thing about my NON-Route, was that I didn't hit any rain at all.

Thanks again to all for putting this together. It was an experience.

I tell you what, it was great to watch Stryg8r work through things this morning, but that ******* was out the door when I was only half way through putting bonus locations in.

I will admit it was a hissy fit. Trying to put 40 to 50 bonus locations in and plan a route in an hour to hour and a half in your first ever rally, and having mapsource crash on you twice has that affect on me.

That's why I liked Rick's rally at CFO last year cause I had plenty of time to plan the route.

Here are the unofficial results <LINK>.

FJRs did well. Stryg8r took overall, Cruzin was 3rd in Expert and TriggerT was 1st in Novice and has been banished to expert class for all GLMC events to come.

Honorary mention to Opt8low/Dana for coming in dead last in both points and efficiency. He decided to eat a healty breakfast of off-brand doritos and BS with the rally crew instead of planning a route. He then road around until about 2pm when he called me at rally HQ to tell me he is hungry and is coming back for pizza and a nap.

Congrats to all !! :clapping:

Did I see someone started the rally with a bike with only 5 miles on the clock?!?

That is what I call "Breaking in" a new bike in style!

Notice the exclusion of any adjectives, allowing the reader to draw their own conclusions as to nature of said experience. I CAN tell you it was a painful start listening to this experienced LD rider lament, moan, groan, and curse during the 'input stage' of the rally. I was half expecting a laptop to fly across the room at any moment.

But for someone who left without a route plan and not all bonuses loaded, he did an excellent job. Imagine what he could have done with a full list of bonii and a route. Watch out for him at the Rally Rallye Ralleye Rallie.

Welcome to expert class Tim. See you at the scoring table in a two weeks...better have all your i's dotted and t's crossed. :)
