A friend of mine, Reg Kittrelle, is an avid motorcyclist, journalist, and has lived through his first fifty years. He's written a book focusing on the continuation of riding for his next 50 years. Thought it might be of interest for some of you older young whipper snappers. Link to the book is here. Enjoy!
"Old age is not a disease or a pitiful condition. It is a status we've attained, and if we've lived properly, it is worthy of respect."
The calendar will tell you how many years you've lived, but it's up to you to decide if you are old or not. After more than 50 years in the saddle of a motorcycle, I'm not yet ready to give it up because of advancing age. So, I decided to rethink my definition of "old."
My research for this book proved to me that much of what we believe to be a "normal" part of aging is false. Conditions such as loss of muscles mass, brittle bones, and balance issues are largely controllable —and often reversible— by adhereing to simple eating and exercise plans.
This is not a diet book, and it offers no secrets for "perfect abs in 30 days." It is simply a bit of common sense that quite possibly will give you a wholly different view of growing "old."
