Well, we Three Amigos are heading out this Thursday evening to run our long-planned, and once delayed Border To Border Insanity ride.

BlueStreak, TurboDave_98 and myself are meeting in Yuma Wednesday night - and then heading into Mexico Thursday evening around 20:00 hours - and then turning North - this will put us through all of the 90 and 100 degree states during the night -

But we need a finish witness (witnesses would be preferable) in Lethbridge once we hit the Hotel. We could probably find a local LEO or hotel clerk - but this is an INSANITY run, and we want to have our TEE's crossed, and our EYE"s dotted - so if there's anyone in Alberta, or Montana, or heck, New Jersey, that would be willing to ride to Lethbridge and sign our paperwork, we would really appreciate it.

In addition, BlueStreak is also doing his first documented Bun Burner Gold !!

(If he looks like I did after mine, the entertainment value alone would be worth the trip .. )

Friday night would be excellent - Saturday morning would also work. Granted, we might all be a bit cooked - perhaps smelly and even a wee bit grumpy - but we promise not to bite your head(s) off.

And heck TurboDave is always crabby - so he'd be normal. :D

If you're willing and able to do this, PM me and I'll get you the hotel info, and we can trade cell numbers, etc.

And Thanks !!!

Might I suggest paging on the Pashnit site as well? I'd meet you there, but Sherri thought it would be a bad idea to ride over 2400 miles in 3 days. WTF?

I will be heading down to meet them and witness their ride. Anybody else want to head down as a Welcoming committee let me know.
Bearly: I've been PM'ing back and forth today with Kaitsdad (their intrepid leader) and Sylvia and I are going to mosey over to Lethbridge to sign some forms and slap some backs too. See you all Friday evening at the motel! (Never need too much coaxing or too much of an excuse to take a spin on the Feej)

Orange and Joyfulgirl: Save your energy for WFO - sounds like we'll all need it with the rides you've put up on the forum. See you soon!

(PS Nobody mention this to dcarver or I'll get another one of those damn Candy Butt Association fines...)

I think Don quit reading this topic area. The horror of it all keeps him away. Oh. The HORROR!!!

You guys be safe and keep the shiney side up. Kaitsdad and Turbo Dave, it was a pleasure meeting and riding with you last Saturday. You two are definately an inspiration. Your love of the ride and your bikes is enviable. Good Luck! B)

FastJoyRide: I was going to try and be down a bit early and meet them at the border, Get some neat snapshots of the Border Guards taking 3 suspected terrorists into custody(make a fortune selling the pics to National Inquirer) after that trip, they will be lucky to remember their own name....If,, IF, they make it through the border, ride back to Lethbridge with them.

Well, it's 6:00 PM here in sunny so kalifornia -

Turbo headed for Yuma at 2:00 pm today - I imagine he's just about there if not already. Hope he doesn't mind the 108 temps at 6:00 PM.

BlueStreak visited RenoJohn and they moved Skyway's prototype tank from bike to bike - BlueStreak left Sparks at about 3:00 PM yesterday. I haven't heard from him - but I would imagine that he's already there, if not close. It's about 800 miles for him.

Me ? I'm launching for Yuma about 8:00 PM - should arrive around midnight - 268 miles.

Tomorrow afternoon, Bob and Heidi Still will visit us at our hotel and sign our start forms.

8:00 PM we head south into Los Algodones - take pictures in front of the police station, and get our receipts at the liquor store across the street from the station.

Then -

We head north.

We should see sunrise right about Nephi, maybe a bit farther north. We can expect to see temps in the high 80's in Utah, and they will hopefully ease as we move north to Sweetgrass. We should hit the border at around 22 hours - which would be 6:00 PM local time - then we're gonna move west to Cardston for a corner and on to Lethbridge. This will give BlueStreak about 1520 miles for a BBG.

Looking like we'll hit the hotel in Lethbridge right around 8:30 or 9:00 PM local time on Friday. Bearly Flying and FastJoyRide are going to visit us to sign our finish witness forms.

At least that's the way it's all supposed to work.

T minus 1:48 and counting.

vroooommmm.

Then -
We head north.
After all the planning and anticipation, you're on the doorstep of a GREAT adventure.
Knock 'em dead you guys!!! have fun, ride fast and if you get tired keep your eyes open. If you get scared ..that is when you close the eyes.

Best of fun and luck to you .....we'll be thinking of you while you're taking this on!
