Knucklehead,"It does look nice but I wonder how long the polish will stay there?
Your knob or your pipes? *g, d, & r*+2 (and people say it doesn't pay to live in SoCal)+1. Sunny and 70's today. Sorry, rest of the country.Signed, So-Cal.
Nice polish job! Let me know where to send mine
I think about a 3 HP will be plenty. You need to regulate the air to the die grinder or the little cloth buffs will go POOF! I don't think they had 22,000 RPM's in mind when they sowed them together. The die grinder someone gave to me and is older than dirt, no idea of the CFM. So with the air cranked down, (60/80 PSI??) a 3 HP will keep up I think. My compressor is bigger and I also use a 45 gallon steel water tank as an air reserve for sandblasting so I'm not a good judge on what the minimum requirement would be.S76,
What type of air compressor do you have? Was it able to keep up with the die grinder? What is the SCFM output on the compressor and what is the rating on the grinder?
I've been needing a new compressor and the die grinder looks like a fairly inexpensive item.
I just received my Buffing compound and mini buffs from Eastwood. I think I ran them dry with an order of 14...
Any other tips for the job?
I have some time off work coming up after next week and since I live in Colorado where I have 5 ft of snow on either side of my driveway I figure this is the next best thing to riding.
