I've read where the Bose QC 20 earbuds are the choice for many in this forum. But at $250 and no discounts I've held off until today ...

Bose is discounting a "Factory Renewed" version for $179.95, free shipping + tax, "limitied supplies." It is direct from Bose and there is a 30 day return policy and a 25% restocking fee. Since music quality and saving my hearing is important, I went ahead and pulled the trigger.

I have a set of those but don't see how they would work under a helmet. They have weird ear plugs, stick out quite a bit and the cables can't be run over the ear. They are great on an airplane or a bus, though.

A guy I work with has these. He uses them mountain biking and loves them. I couldn't fit them under my helmet. I still love my shure 215k's. I use Nolan N-Com B5's )with foam plugs) because I'm lazy and I like the convenience of in-helmet comms. But the quiet and unsurpassed audio quality of the shure's is the best riding experience.
