As is said, ride the bike. Your findings are normal. Get out and ride that machine down the highway. You'll see it cool down.

My '08 does the same thing all the time. I bought mine in April and the temp bars were half way up when the air was around 65 degree out. during the hot weather my bike is always at or above 7 bars. When I posted the same question there were no real answers. I have not had any problems with seeing coolant or water overflowing from any place.
