The worst we got here in the mountains was 5 minutes of pea sized hail

Our middle TN and north GA members had MUCH worse weather.

Yes, and there is even global warming on Mars according to the scientists. Guess those crazy Martians are driving too much these days.

Jim, thanx for asking. And, yes, we're OK here in Johnson City. We got a lot of thunder and lightening and, as SnP said, we also got about 5 minutes of pea sized hail. The Nashville area took the big hit.

It seems as the mountains around Johnson City tend to break up big storms...w/ some passing to the north and some to the south. Maybe that's why my insurance is about 40% less than it was when we lived in Texas.

brazos - glad you and SnP are ok. Guess we can put Johnson City back on the list of places to look to retire to! We got some pretty good thunderstorms that night, but they moved on pretty quickly. Today is beautiful and I think I can get Lorie and Maxine out for a ride today (to clear up any confusion, Lorie is my lovely wife and Maxine is my lovely bike).
