From my good friend, Patrick (+Patrick), who asked me to pass this on... I missed last year due to, um, complicating circumstances but plan on going this year... hope some of you can make it as this has always been a really great ride! B)

Hello Bridgeport Alumni,

As many of you have heard, I'll be moving to Austin, TX. It is very likely this will be the last Bridgeport ride I'll organize.

The dates are set for Bridgeport 2010.

September 25 & 26, 2010

With a bit of luck, we will see the fall colors as we ride over the mountain passes. We did in 2008 and 2009.

While the rates have gone up just a bit from last year (what hasn't!), I still think it is a bargain for a full weekend with two complete meals and wine with dinner. And a campfire too!

EXTRA BONUS:

This year we are renting out the whole place, including the housekeeping cabins. These means we can carry on over by the campfire as late as we want! We will also allow solo booking of the two covered wagons this year. And we have ONE of the housekeeping cabins open.

Housekeeping cabins (and the two meals)

$270 / 2 people

$335 / 3 people

$115 for the shared hotel room and two meals

$100 for the covered wagon SOLO and two meals

$80 for the shared hardwall tent cabin or wagon and two meals. (full bedding provided - but you still might want to bring your own sleeping bag at this time of the year) $70 for the shared tent site and two meals. BYOT (Bring Your Own Tent) and your own sleeping bag.

** If you send in payment for the hotel bed and they are all full, please let me know if you want a complete refund, or be switched to the tent cabin/wagon and only the difference refunded. If you don't let me know, I will assume you want the tent cabin/wagon.

As in past years, room and bed priority is based on the order in which payment is received. These advance deposits are also what I use to pay the deposit at the Settlement. I can't fund the entire deposit out of my pocket - my wallet isn't that big! No deposits - no reservation and the trip is cancelled.

PAY ATTENTION HERE:

Refunds only given if I can resell your space or the trip is canceled. I don't care how much advance notice you give me. I had some problems with people understanding this simple policy in years past and I don't want the hassles again next year.

PayPal is the only accepted method of payment as it helps with my record keeping. You really do want me to remember you paid - don't you? You don't need a PayPal account to send money.

Send your PayPal payment to:

Credit cards are accepted to this account, as well as payments funded by your checking or savings account. Apologies in advance for any problems this might cause you.

If you have any questions, please let me know.

Best,

Patrick

The small print:

All accommodations are shared - there are no single rooms or tent spaces. Rooms, tents & wagons hold between 2 and 4 people. Beds come in all shapes and sizes and may include, but are not limited to: twin beds, single beds, double beds, sofa beds, bunk beds, futons, queen beds and anything else The Settlement might add between now and then. Not all hotel rooms are en-suite. The "better" beds are assigned based in the order in which payment is received subject to the flexibility needed to insure the maximum number of people can attend.

Your advance payment guarantees a place to sleep and two meals only. Room, bed, and/or tent & wagon assignments are at my sole discretion and are subject to change at any time without notice.

Unless you are sleeping in the same bed, requests for specific roommates will be accepted but not guaranteed. If you are married and want to sleep with your spouse, be sure to let me know!

What... none of you suckers are up to this? Afraid I'll kick your car-tire butts?

For those on the fence, get off of it and sign up! The steaks that we have for dinner are HUGE and take up a plate of their own. Food is really good, wine is provided, and it's a great place to stay... oh yeah, and good peeps too.

Hope a few of you come along to join in the fun! B)

Bridgeport is so over-rated and soooooo last-year.!

Besides, some of us don't need no stinking wine. :bleh:

AND, Tyler might give another talk and who wants to listen to that?!?!

I know those who went last year raved about the good time and lovely scenery. Oh yeah, they met some wonderful folks, too. :yahoo:

That would be the weekend after I return from my vacation to Canada (Yes, north and east after Barb's soiree then down through Banff and Glacier) so I'm not going to make it, my dear.

Will you miss me?

Not likely! Miss "Social Butterfly" will be in her glory and that alone would be worth the price of admission.

For those on the fence:

The hotel is almost full - only a few spots left.

Still have the one housekeeping cabin open.

Lots of space in the hardwall tents.

Let me know if you have any questions! Hope you can join us. :yahoo:

Going to ride the Icefields Parkway?

https://www.icefieldsparkway.ca/

I did it many years ago - what a trip :D

.
Yep, last year we did it northward, spent the night in Jasper and returned southbound.

This year we plan yo visit the Vivacious Vixen of Victoria Island and our other Canadian friends then head northeast to Jasper and down through the Icefields Parkway to the U.S. Glacier N.P, across Lolo Pass and south to home.

You can see we'll probably be "rode out" and will need to do some maintenance and maybe even "wash the bike". :dntknw:
