My 08 came with Bridgestones. 7300 miles and the front tire is shot with uneven wear and down to the bars? whats up with that? The rear is fine, probably 2k miles left on it. any opinions as to what happened to cause the front to wear so quickly?

it's a bridgestone...'nuff said

to get them to sorta last, one generally has to ride with higher than usual inflation. not sure if that has anything to do with your specific issue, but upping the inflation helped the 2 sets of stones I had exerience with.

I find that with alot of tires on mY FJR until I went to dynabeads, Now my tread wear seem to wear much more evenly.

7300 on an -021 is about twice what most are getting with it. I'm on my second -021 rear, like it, it suits my Florida (straight up nearly all the time) style, but I've never run the front, and won't, based on reports here.

Yep, crap tire! Got 3k out of first one. I complained to dealer, and they replaced it with the same crappy tire, (for free). Got another 3k out of the 2nd tire. Complained to dealer, and they ended up giving me a roadsmart free. Wear length on this one is yet undetermined.

Mine were gone at 5500 miles, the front was cupping bad and the rear was well into the wear bars. I'm trying the road smarts, 2300 miles and they are flat spotting quickly, been riding coastal roads all year. Not too many curves down here in Florida.

8400 on my bridgestones and they are both shot, and have been for some time now. The front for some resone has a strip about an 1 1/2" wide that runs from the center line out towards the edge on the left side only that is worn more then the rest of the tire. I am speculating that this is caused by the fact that most roads around here have a good deal of crown to them and that may be causing the tire to wear more on the left side. The rear tire still has good tread on the outer edges but is shot in the center. Crazy thing is these things seem to be handling better now that they are about shot then they did when they were new.

I got 4,500 on the front tire, OEM Bridgetones that came with my 08. The front Bridgetone were definitely cupping........check those tire pressure religiously!! I replaced the front tire with the Michelin Pilot Road 2, 20 miles ago and my backordered rear PR2 arrived Saturday. What a difference in handling. Ditch those Bridgetones ASAP.

Got 2900 miles on the BT-21 front and I'm not an aggressive rider. It looked like a deformed Son-Of-Flubber when it was done with moderate vibration at speed. I do ride in twisting situations and slabbed sectioned freeways that might have contributed. I'm now using the PR-2 on the front and still have the BT-21 rear with good success so far. PM. <>< ;)

I am offically done with Bridgestones. My bike came with the BT020s which I got 5700 out of. I then put a BT021 on the rear and a PR on the front. On Friday, I was preping the bike for a 500 mile ride on Sat/Sun and almost freaked out when I realized the rubber in the center of the rear was wearing in that weird oval pattern. The rubber was peeling off and the tire was full of cracks. Almost 6000 miles exactly!

The emergency was on since the tire wouldn't make the trip and I ended up putting a set of Roadsmarts on the bike. For the 1st 500 miles, they have been great. We'll see how this goes.

Hated my OEM Bridgestones on my 08. At 4,400 they still had some good rubber left, especially on the rear. The front was cupping pretty bad at that point. I just couldn't take them anymore. Wierd feeling over any road imperfections. Replaced them with PR2s. Nice tires, but the dealership that mouned them, balanced them wrong and they would start shaking pretty bad starting around 80mph. Had them rebalanced, but haven't finished remounting them yet. Don't think I'll be running Bridgestones again.

I had the previously noted V shape and tread wear bars showing on the front tire at 3400kms (app 2000mi). Rear was fine but I have changed to PR2's and I like the feedback they are giving me right off the bat! I am hoping for some satisfaction from the dealer or Yamaha or Bridgestone! I won't hold my hand over my ass.
