An update from my brother last week and thought I'd share. He listened to many of the suggestions and loves the GL1800 forum that was suggested. He says to say thanks. I think he has blown his budget and has farklitis :) ........

Hi Mike,

Picked it up last Saturday. I still have to put on a bunch of acc

though..... some of which you can't see ... Kison rear brake

modulator, OEM passenger armrests (they are short), coin holder, MP3

attachment, vanity mirror in the trunk, trunk light, fog lights, accessory

attachment. I have bought and still need to put on ...... Mick-o-pegs, Muth

mirrors (have the signal arrow in them), Utopia drivers back rest, Tulsa

belly pan.

The other thing that is on the bike is the wing lites. The molding on the

trunk and side bags has LED lights that work when the headlights are on and

also work with the signals. I'll send a separate picture.

Rode a few hundred miles on Saturday ... I'm

hoping the mick-o-pegs and backrest will make a big difference.

This is unbelievable ... I was doing ninety and thought I was doing

sixty.

Oh yeah, I have the J & M intercom system that

I need to put in the helmets also.

Leo

When I search and figure out how to include pictures I'll post them.

He could trailer an FJR behind it and park the Wing when he gets to the campground and use the FJR for local trips...

Simply LOVIN' my new '07 'Wing (for which I had to say goodbye to both my '06 FJR and '98 'Wing).

Only farkles installed on this almost top-of-the-line (everything but airbag) Gold Wing are:

- Utopia backrest

- headlight modulator

- Baker Hand Wing deflectors

It's a fast, pretty, comfy peg-scrapin' rig whose female-voiced nav system tells you when to turn left in 500 feet. Life is good.

My brother turned in his bike and bought a wing. It is in storage at the dealer in Boston until better riding weather. He can get accessories installed at time of delivery at dealer cost, and is getting GPS, MP3, cruise. He didn't get airbag or ABS. Already has good gear. He is asking for advice on what people with goldwings would recommend. He will be riding two up alot. Specifically he is unsure about rider floorboards, passenger armrests, backrests, extra running lights, websites to check out, etc. His budget for farkles is about $1500.
He is 59, rides conservatively, and is looking at weekend rides mostly, maybe a ride down to the Honda Hoot. he likes his luxury. I suggested a custom seat, but he doesn't want to spend a grand at this point on it.

Suggestions welcome. TIA.
I think that when (not if) I buy a Golding, I might spring for a keychain. Maybe some driving lamps, tho' the stock lighting is good. Maybe... MAYBE... a tow hitch. Maybe.

People laugh at Harley Guys © , but I gotta tell you the Goldwing subculture is *almost* as bad when it comes to senseless chroming and "gee whiz" bolt ons.

I know one bike was being prepped for sale when I bought my FJR and the guy was getting over $10k in addons installed. I'm talking like mud flaps, chrome bits... Honestly, I think the most useful thing be added on was the mud flap.

I don't understand people who have more money than brains.

Just got done with the suspenders on my 06 Wing. Traxxion front end with brace, Wilber's rear shock. Went to a 70 series rear tire & Bushtec trailer hitch. Headlight guards and fenda extenda added last season. No bling, but did add a fuse block under the seat.
