Google doesn't sign my paycheck.
Fixed it for you.It is going to mean that I will no longer be able to usemytheir smartphone for anything that I don't want to "share" with them. But perhaps even more alarming (and more to the point of this thread) is that with the Airwatch software allows them to monitor the device's internal GPS activity real-time from the back office and determine the device (and therefore my) whereabouts at any time that the device is powered on. Think about that.
Not sure how I am going to respond to this...
Yup, I've worked for those companies as well. While I appreciate what you are saying about your smaller company, Jasen, the company that I work for has more than enough dedicated IT and HR resources to root out "non-compliance" issues. Of that I have no doubt.
Really test it out when you go to NERDS!Thanks for the info. I just signed up and activated my phone. Now all I need to do is leave work early, go get mike bike and test this thing out. Come on 5:00pm!!!!
Do you mean pressing "stop" on the phone at the end of each day (and then pressing "Update now" the next morning, or starting a new "trip" on the website for each day?Really test it out when you go to NERDS!Thanks for the info. <my tip> Create a map for each day you go to NERDS, make sure the start and stop times are on that day. This way you will have each day separately plotted (and not all jumbled on top of each other). This is not only for your friends/family or forum lurkers but for YOR reference later!

When you make a map in spotwalla, make the start and end date the same each day (it should show a 23hr/59min recording time). This will probably make more sense once you create a map or two for your testing.Do you mean pressing "stop" on the phone at the end of each day (and then pressing "Update now" the next morning, or starting a new "trip" on the website for each day?Really test it out when you go to NERDS!Thanks for the info. I ended up in this situation too, then got out of it by returning the phone to my employer, getting a soft-number, and then forward that to my personal cell phone. Now I just carry one phone, browse pr0n if I want, and go for midday pie runs, post on forums, etc. ;-)Yeah, well... I meant "my" phone in the sense of it is the one I have to carry, not that I own it. At one time it was my phone. And then they "allowed" me to use it on their network, but only after installing apps and adhering to their IT policies on it. Then they replaced it in their dime, so yes it now belongs to them.
And none of this was all that much of a surprise, I knew it was all coming. I just do not like the idea of having to carry two phones around all of the time.

Only buzzkill or anchor I see is no buffering and no spotwalla connection.Saw THIS on another site. For iPhone.
This would make sense. Since mine have all been one day tests, a multiple day trip would confirm.I think that while the trip is going on, you can choose the history drop down on the left and see only 1 day of tracks. It looks like once the trip is finished that you can see only the entire trip. At least, that's what playing around with spotwalla shows me right now.
Looks like the My Tracks app for android. That works pretty well, just no spotwalla interface.Only buzzkill or anchor I see is no buffering and no spotwalla connection.Saw THIS on another site. For iPhone.
Yeah, I use that app for snowmobiling. It's not in the equation here cuz (as u mentioned) it won't report real-time position to (something like/or) SpotWalla. It's basically a personal tracker. No buffering either, maps are not pre-tiled, pre-loaded, relies on cell signal just to operate... it's a no-user for sure.Looks like the My Tracks app for android.
