Harley-Davidson announced today the they will no longer be making Buell motorcycles and that they are looking for a buyer for Aprilia. Here is the link to the Buell website where Eric Buell makes an emotional good by after starting the Buell line in 1983.

Buell Farewell

I know that this info is not exactly FJR related but it's a sad day when the only U.S. made sport bike is no longer. I feel that Buell answered the question that nobody asked in that they made a product that had trouble keeping up with the offerings from Japan (both for performance and especially price) and Europe in the sportbike department. I have several riding buddies that own them and on long trips they carry spare parts (especially the electrical ones) but it's still sad to see them go. I personally found them on the ugly side.

Sad news indeed!

I hate to see any one go out of business.

Especially motorcycle business.

The motorcycle landscape will have one less wrinkle.

:(
