Bug! No! Crap, that sucks big time :angry2: See you shoulda come to CFO, OK maybe there are a couple of forest rats in Wisconsin.

I'm IN for any FJR Forum hunting parties.

Thanks for all of your responses - and for the multiple ride offers !

Hmmm, maybe there *is* something to this FJR thing . . . might have to re-think my 35 year BMW romance. ;-)

Cheers to you all !

I just got off the phone with Doug and everything is under control. He has a ride to the airport with all his stuff and the bike is at a tow yard and moer than likely totaled. If for some reason it needs to be picked up I'll go get it. His gear did the job and he sounds just fine. :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:

Enough deer strikes y'all!

Sorry to hear about the mishap Doug...the critters are everywhere up here.

Glad it wasn't worse than a few bumps and bruises. Bikes can be replaced, peeps can't -- heal up quick!!

Jutt got into Eureka and onto the forum for first time since La P. Guess I'm just gonna have to quit coming on at all, for all the shitty news we've been getting.

Attaboy Adam, Sam, were sorry as hell about your deer hit and glad you're alive, at least, and Doug, I thought I told you to "ride safely." I mean come ON!
Mike, where ya at? wanna grab a cup of coffee in the am? although, you have family in Arcata if I recall..

Dayhm! These things come in threes like plane crashes? :( Doug, glad you're going to be ok, but crap, these kind of stories need to cease and desist immediately, if not sooner!

Woohoo! Thanks for the update, Ray. Glad that got worked out.

I just got off the phone with Doug and as Ray said, Doug is has bases covered. He is a little banged up but is doing OK. He has my number just in case his other plans fall through.

Damn, Doug! Just got home to an e-mail from CAJW alerting me to this newest offense against FJRs by the forest rat brotherhood. Just glad you're ok neighbor, but that just sucks about the bike and having it happen so far from home. If you need a ride from Sacto airport home or any other help, you have my phone numbers.

Shit Doug...And you were doing so good. Those dammed things were literally everywhere. I literally saw deer or antelope every day of this ride. Between Sacramento and La Pine it was at least two sightings per day.

I'm glad you're gonna be ok man. Sheesh...you and Sam. Sam seems to be ok too. Maybe a little loopty from the pain killers, but walking and talking. Sorry about your bike though.

Honestly, these could been way worse. After Sam's hit, I decided this'll be my last ride without a SPOT.

Sooooo, Dougie.

I'm guessing you won't be needing that KTM for a while. Call me, maybe.

All kidding aside, let me add my name to the list who are glad to hear you're okay.(you too Sam)

Heal up quick. Let us(the Forum)know if you need anything. As you can see, the folks around here are pretty nice.

Mark

First off-THANK YOU ALL! The people here rock!!!

Made it home with all my stuff in a rented car from Portland, nice little 600 mile drive.

It was so great to be able to hold my lovely wife for a while :)

Going to be sore and hobbling some but ATGATT works.

Saw the bike this morning-it's big time toast :( . I'll post up some bike vs forest rat pictures in a report soon.

Sincerely, Doug the deer salyer.

Glad you are back home safe Doug! I have been waiting for you to post up. Didn't call you yesterday so as not to tie up your phone line when you would have been busy making arrangements. Would love to talk to you sometime if you are available and feeling better! Rest up! Get better soon my friend!
