Buying Used: How Can You Determine if Recall Work Was Completed

I’m hoping to purchase say Gen 3 (sixth gear) FJR in the future. As you know, sometimes the service history of a bike is not available.
So can a Yamaha dealer tell you based on the VIN the recall history of the bike?
My main concern is the second gear recall for the 2016 to 2020 models.

Absolutely, they keep up with the titles on the VIN number and send out recall information. I looked my 2016 with Yamaha when I bought it and they verified that the Xmsn recall had been done.
