Hello attendees! There has been a pretty major development over at the hotel and restaurant this spring but I think it's a good deal for us. I have been informed that "due to economic reasons", the Gazebo Restaurant has been bought back by the Best Western. They will no longer be serving meals or doing catering. They will continue to provide breakfasts as part of your room purchase and that is the only time they'll be open. This also means they no longer have a liquor license. So we are now in charge of our own beverage purchases. I figure this will make a few of you pretty happy! Eureka Springs is a wet town so be sure to pick up whatever you like and absolutely bring it to the meals with you. As far as our meals are concerned, they have hired caterers to take care of the menu that had been already chosen, so nothing is changing there.

6 weeks to go!! :clapping:

Also, there are about 8-10 of you roughly that haven't booked your rooms yet. Please don't wait!

You mean people drink liquor at this event? It seems I can remember maybe Odot having a drink or two, maybe a few others, but thats about it.

I think you are experiencing another one of your blackouts Scott. You seem to be experiencing some long term memory loss. Is it time to go back to rehab?

They will not allow Scott back in rehab!

So, I guess they won't be kicking us out for having better taste than the limited beer selection at the bar would permit this year. Things are definitely looking up.

Posting this on April 1st, I don't believe a word of it. Please clarify whether this was a serious or jestful post.

Thank you!

I heard this at a time other than April 1st so I can confirm she be serious.

dang, i hate missing out on this again this year. :(
Ok, when are ya gonna figger out makin money ain't the most important thing...

Yer jus gonna die eventually and leave it all to yur kids.....

Life's short....

I'm jus sayin...

:)
it ain't the money making thingy, it's the paying off all the bills thingy i have to do

So, what is being done with the banquet money paid?
The banquet money pays for your meals and nothing is changing with the meals except who is making them. Beer, liquor and wine were part of the cash bar that was previously offered to us, which has always been a separate expense. SFO can not provide the sale of alcohol for obvious liability reasons, so it has to now be BYOB. Hope that helps clarify things wb4n.

And yes, as Jocko mentioned, all for real here. Sorry I was out of town this weekend and couldn't reply sooner.

Thank you fjrchik. I failed to read the most important line of your original post and my thoughts ran askew.
